Very nice!

The only reason I know its airsoft, is the Troy receiver, and that the Noveske pig is tan, otherwise very realistic. Good research on your part. That's exactly how I'd set up my AR, if running a DI (Direct Impingement) on anything with a short barrel length. For those that don't know the Noveske Kx3, is not just a "cool-guy-feature" but generates higher back pressure impropering cycling. Of course, moot point for airsoft, but adds to the perception of realism.

I am not sure if your new blaster is going to be a "safe-queen", but don't forget to blue-loctite them Troy BUISs, too many times I've seen them loosen up.

I've got mine just about done with a 7" front end, but 7.5" barrel, can't see why you'd want a 12" barrel on it though. UNC sent me the wrong RAS though, I got the split drop in RAS instead of the Free Floating. I will note that magpul stuff doesn't really like ICS all that much, its all very close but needs a bit of filing to get it to fit properly, I used the MOE stock instead of the CTR just to save a couple pennies on my M7A1 build, might switch it out to the proper one later on, but the MOE has the right look to complete it for me. I'll have pictures up later on if Illusion doesn't mind.

I will say Illusion, I've been thinking about building a 10in. but modeled more like the 13.5in model troy has on their website:

Yes, it is. It's an old school 551 with the flush buttons rather than the new push button style.

It's a Troy battle sight set, I got it at the same time I ordered the Troy rail.

All of the Troy and Magpul items were purchased from www.chesterarmsllc.com

She definitely hasn't been collecting dust - she's been the only rifle I've been using for CAPS rifle stages. She's been getting a good amount of use.

OH nom nom nom. If I decide to build a real steel AR, that's what its going to look like as a finished product .

Again, unless you put the sight and gas block up like a typical M4, I think it would look awkward still. Maybe if you did just a gas block without the sights it might be interesting. Troy's line up has managed to make two things look good that before I never liked, one was the CRT/MOE stocks, and the RAS ending at the end of the barrel. I always found the CRT stocks looked too light for any large front end, even the 10" it just seems "light" and doesn't give an over-all flow to the look ((this is of course my opinion only)). The M7A1 just looks so sexy to me, it blends the CRT stocks profile to front end with out making the gun look unbalanced. Illusions 10" set up, teeters this concept in a balancing act I think, its pushing the length but just not quite going far enough that the CRT stock looks puny.

Here's a question, in real steel, would the fire-pig be prohibited? Just a curiosity now.

The "fire-pig" is legal. They sell on CGN for $250-ish or so.

I don't think most guys will know how much that set-up cost, but I do.

Now you have to go out and get it dirty, Brian.

The buffer tube had to be switched to an aftermarket one so that I could fit the real steel stock.

Besides that, there's several Airsoft-specific or "PTS" replicas on the market.

Surprisingly, it didn't actually cost that much. Anybody can check the price of the rail on the link I provided earlier... $240USD. It was a sweet deal at the time, because I got it when the dollar was at Par.

The sights, on the other hand... the price stung. But I had to get it for the all FDE look... damn King Arms for taking so long to come out with a replica!

Been meaning to get outdoors more, but restrictions in my work schedule don't allow me to afford 4 hours travel, 7 hours of playing and 1-2 hours cleanup for outdoor game days. I'm restricted to using it indoors at small local games.
