these are: King Arms AK 70R magazines
i fill up both mags before putting them into my pouch... i found this method really fast in reloading without throwing my mags on the ground.

Here's the newest picture
Here's the kraken with my new wood furnishings from ebaybanned.com. They are somewhat cheap wood, but still good.

In Vietnam special forces did the same thing taping their M733 mags together. They put a piece of tape over the top of the mag to keep the rounds in and as training to "remove the tape" which also serves to make sure the mag is full. It was on a documentary I watched.

Evolution of my Kraken
From a stock kraken fresh from the store shelf of basspro shops Painted the Clear reciever, Cut off the stock for CQB and rewired it, and added a wood kit. Added a metal receiver and side folding stock and a new pistol grip for borderwars2 Got another kraken cheap and painted it up and slaped on some spare furniture. |

What is the over all length of your stockless CQB? How annoying is it to fit the battery, and what battery style are you using?
I'm still working on deciding if I want to get into airsoft with a Kraken this fall or not. What low/mid cap mags work well at a fair price for these? Any fitting issues with some brands? |

To be honest, I would have been better off scratch building... The only kraken part is the rear sight, outer barrel, trigger guard and the dust cover. |

This is my Kraken AK-47. It is a stock gun except for the metal clip. The body is spray painted black and the green grips are just misted over with grey and black spray paint.

And the 'feed lips' getting hit thing is also unlikely. Even if you do, it'll still feed. And terrorists do get trained, just not to the extent of our armies. But that's another story. All that aside, while I don't particularly favor the Kraken, the price and accessibility makes it note worthy. Plus, as Amos' beauty of a kraken shows, you can do quite a bit with them if you know what you're doing. Last edited by Kookamater; September 16th, 2008 at 21:12.. |

Question : on the last few krakens i've touched, Iv'e noticed almost 'all' of them had their front sight tapped incorrectly, and were off slightly to the left. Do you guys just retap the sights? or dont do anything at all?

As much as I have read and obsorbed from those people who are in the serious shooting business you treat your mags like gold. You treat your mags better than any other piece of kit. They are the most likely source of failure on the entire weapon. Feed lips can and do get damaged just from dropping mags during a change. Try going prone quickly with taped mags without touching them to the ground. Case in point: http://www.vickerstactical.com/Tips/magazines.htm But feel free to completely disregard what I say and believe what you want. I would, however, disregard any tactics used by terrorists as a good idea. Cheers, Grant |

Ironically, I do treat my mags like gold. But I didn't buy an AK-47 to caress it like it IS gold. Because it's not gold. It's my primary weapon and I show it abuse. Unintentionally mind you, but stuff happens in the field, and 'dual mag' or not, it comes down to the user.
Also, just so you know, these are airsoft mags. No need to be hypocritical. I know how to handle my weapon. (AK mag's are hard to go prone with in the first place so... an extra inch due to another mag isn't going to make a whole lot of difference. But I digress. Slick paintjob Thatotherguy.
