Hence why I wear full face protection even though it compromises my aim with iron sights
For those who just wear goggles at least wear a mouthguard. |

... Here's the best full-face mask option... It doesn't compromise any use of sights what so ever.

yeah mouthguard makes sense, personally i'd wouldnt chance it so i wear a full mask, going with a new mesh mask for BW2 tho, hopefully it works better

The Sansei mask is alright, but you'd have to replace the goggles with regular ones as most paintball fields will not allow that.
Since I play indoor CQB alot I still prefer having full head protection I do not want to have to worry about big red dots the next day on my neck or other places. Quote:

I bought 1 before and before even trying it I wanted to test it, Ancorp can vouch as he was there when I tested it, the best one IMO is the one with the wire mesh as opposed to the sheet with holes in it. *EDIT* that sansei mask does fit VERY WELL though and does not interfere with the iron sights on my AK |

Bottom line we are all adults, if someone chooses not to wear face protection, thats their decision and sometimes there are consequences. All the more reason for the 18+ rule. To add to that, anyone who's ever lost a tooth in airsoft hasn't been an ass about it (in my experience) and has basically said 'yup, my fault'.

My teammate got two tooth accidents under his belt. One indoor and one outdoor if I'm not mistaken.

Very few of the players here in Calgary wear full face shields. Heck, most choose to wear shooting glasses as opposed to goggles when we have the choice. A balaclava or shemagh offers pretty good protection too (at least absorb a majority of the impact) if you don't want to go full face mask.

But obviously for assault you would want to go with heavy face protection (if you want to get nice and close) I've seen guys do both, and never get messed up. Luck of the draw! |

a buddy of mine got into a close firefight the first shot got him in the lip so it caused him to show his teeth then *thwack* bottom front tooth taken out by a 400 fps Mp5 Navy almost clean, the root was exposed and everything, i think he even swallowed it lol.

To be honest, I've been hit in the face in both indoor and outdoor and it hurt and left a red mark but nothing permanent. I don't think I'll ever be sporting a full face shield unless required to. I actually bought a JT goggle + face shield combo and returned it a week later because it was bulky, not comfortable at all and impossible to sight my M4 with. I think I'll start looking for a good shemagh or balaclava to cover my face but a face shield is too far for me. Just need something to take the sting out.

yeah shemagh's work great and aren't as hot as a balaclava or ski mask, but damn you calgary boys are tough!

Others have just pulled the mesh out and worn this over ballistic glasses.. also an effective no fog option to reduce the chance of sporting a "defenseman grin"

I have a nice set of big old buckteeth; I always just wore shooting glasses playing airsoft....needless to say I bought an Empire E-vent mask not too long ago. It's a paintball setup but it's very nice, it's not very good if you use sight's but that doesnt bother me though...I dont use the sights anyways, I just line my shots with the barrel.
The thing I really like about this mask is that it uses a lens much like a half face hockey visor. I can also wear my glasses underneath it. I have asthma so I breath fairly heavy and I havent had a single issue with it fogging up. |
