AGM say %100 compatible, but that isn't always the case. I had a AGM VSR clone, that was nothing but dissapointing. Something that I've noticed about china models, is that they are poorly put together. Lots of loose, missing or stripped screws. My VSR wasn't TM compatible with everything, although I've never used one of their AEG's.
IMO, it isn't worth the headaches, I'd rather save up and get something built to last. |

yeah i just got one off of vertexairsoft.com, its pretty good for my standards (just had Well before; by the way, they suck PISS COMING OUT OF MY ASS), so i think i got one of TM quality (wouldn't know, havent had a TM before). im looking to get some KngArms mags and a 170 spring for the gearbox, havent looked inside it yet, but the box it came in says that the gearbox is full metal, ive yet to do an accuracy test.
Off of vertex airsoft, i had to pay 20-something bucks for the dropshipping, but i think its worth it. By the way, if any of you are wondering, i am talking about the AGM M14 (actually, it says on the box that the namebrand is UKArms)

My AGM M-14 worked great until she took a little fall and now she's FUBAR"D and my gun doc says theres something missing in the hopup or something.
oh yah plus she will only fire full auto...I didn't have a choice between CYMA and AGM But you can upgrade them for sure... BooMs

Shoud be getting a AGM M14 soon, so i will Chrono it and field test it (stock)
the only diffrence i can see between the CYMA and the AGM online is the AEG construction and FPS are both better with CYMA. I watched a dissassembly video on youtube for the AGM M14 and it looks way intense (screws screws and more screws + removing flashhider etc) Still tho for the price of an AGM if it breaks down the line, and parts become unobtainable....it would still be worth it as a wall ornament :P

been good for the past year.Works great with 28's due to the barrel dia. It will still give a slight shotgun effect though.it needs a tight bore to be a decent AEG. It shoots 298fps stock. I personally would say it is a good starter AEG,but it is hit or miss on quality control.

I had an AGM M14, I was pleased by its preformance but the externals were pretty much atrocious. Very low quality potmetal that didn't really hold up to much at all. They're good if you dont play around with the bolt much, but either way.

it seems like AGM/Cybergun/CYMA are all manufactured by the same factory as far as i can tell after researching (pics/info/box graphics/unboxing videos/web links etc)for a while.
* Ive seen the AGM in a black box with the cm.032 or somthing written on it (+A = shortie) Says AGM on box * The cybergun (at far as ive seen has a bunch of army dudes on the box, w/green black) No distinctive Company name on Box CYMA boxes ive seen look similar to AGM's with the CR.032 lettering (says CYMA) All the stastistics seem to work out to being the same @ 330FPS, inc crap sling, battery, charger, scope mount (some i hear come with the scope inc. but i think thats older versions, correct me if im wrong). The main diffrence i can see is on the variations of metal Flashhiders...some come w/orange plastic small cap, some are painted all orange (entire flashhider), and others appear to have partial orange paint at the end of the flashhider. I heard UTG also makes a M14 cloner, so does G&G, then you have the origins @ TM

AGM are said to be hit or miss (My AGM MP40 had 15000 BBs go though it without any problems; I was quite skeptic at first but it was the only available MP40 on the market so I bought 2 extra gearboxes and a few hop-up units just in case - they are still in their package - To sum up, I would definitely buy another AGM gun). In case you get a lemon, ( the gearbox starts to F*&K up), you can always replace the gearbox by a G&P preassembled gearbox (airsoftparts.ca have some for 175$).
At worst, you get a lemon and you have to replace the gearbox, it is still cheaper than a stock TM M14 by at least 200$. I would buy the AGM and give it a try.

To clarify some things:
AGM and CYMA are completely different factories CYMA generally makes a better product than AGM AGM guns tend to have a bit higher defective rate than CYMA guns (6% vs 4%) The newest AGM M14 models have an entirely plastic flash hider AGM M14 rifles are supposed to be 100% TM compatible but some machining variances make than untrue with some guns Cybergun has two M14 models, the SOCOM from CYMA and the M14R from AGM Dusti69 needs to shut his mouth as he obviously has no clue what he is talking about. What can and can't be done in the US is completely irrelevant to a discussion about airsoft guns in Canada. Also, bad-mouthing a US distributor with whom you have not worked is very similar to a blind man teaching a driver's education course. I have no particular love for UK Arms, but I hate to see a company get trashed for no reason other than a friend of a friend of a friend told me they suck. Juan - After you add that M170 spring, enjoy your four shot AEG. That's all you'll get out of it before the gearbox goes to hell as they aren't designed to handle a much heavier spring in stock configuration. Also, plan to convert the gun to semi-only as no field in their right mind will allow you to shoot an AEG full auto at those velocities. I will now get down from my soapbox and allow the bashing of me to begin... Last edited by Augiedoggy18; August 30th, 2010 at 18:10.. |
