A clear gun SHOULD make it across the border, but there's no guarantee that it will. It all depends on how the customs agent interprets the regulations.

Same as the OP I am a paintballer looking for P90 shell to mod my X7, Since the last post in this thread is around 6 months, has anything changed regarding getting P90's in Canada? I haven't found anywhere that actually has any in stock.
Preferably looking for a cheap P90 (like the Well, or a crappytire type pos), but I would rather not have to deal with customs, even for a clear gun, or pay around $120 for something that I'm only going to use for it's shell. If there aren't any retailers that have some at a reasonable price I guess I will have to get age verified and browse the classifieds.

Buy a clear one from the states then paint it.

Yup, that's your best bet. Do you really want to pay $500+ for something you're just going to use the shell of and throw away the rest?

airsoft is hard to get, so for the price of a p90 you could buy a whole new marker. do you really want to buy 400$ shell? only a few companys make the p90. you could try well i guess, but even that in canada would be around 100$. also dont try to get the "black" versions outside of canada. they will get seized and destroyed. so yeah a clear one state side would be your best option.

Ya, I can order a clear one for about $30 from the states & paint it, (& about $30 shipping heh). I would rather get one from a Canadian source though. From the reading I have been doing even clear guns aren't 100% guaranteed to get over the border.

Yup, not even clear guns are 100% guaranteed. But in Canada you're paying minimum $100 for a P90, and that's the shitty WELL version. It jumps to about $350 after that and goes up from there.

Heh this could turn into an expensive project if I buy local, or it gets siezed at the border. Maybe should just get age verfied and see if someone has a broken one for sale

Broken P90's don't show up in the classifieds. If they did, they'd still be a few hundred dollars. |

Unless you're rich and have money to burn, you're better off using the Well / Firepower clear one. The upper and lower receiver are 1 piece and the shell splits in half, whereas higher end P90s (everything else NOT Well or Firepower), the upper and lower receivers are 2 separate parts. And I think you'd have a very difficult time modding that to fit a paintball marker.
I've saw a video on youtube of someone modding a Well P90 with paintball marker (can't find it now), and I don't think you'd be able to do it with anything other than the Well. The only places I know that carried the Well P90 are S.I.R. (now Cabela's Canada) and they don't seem to carry it anymore, and buyairsoft.ca (http://buyairsoft.ca/catalog/product...roducts_id=135), but it's been out of stock forever now. And as you can see, even those cheap guns are over $100. So your best bet is to order from the US. Clear guns are legal to import, but it's very dependent on how the customs agent that processes your package interprets the law. There is a possibility it could get seized. But chances are, it will get to you.

I'm using this as a base for what I would like to do
Looking at everything involved even a 30$ us well is going to cost upwards of $100 Cdn, with the possibility of it being seized at the border. ($30 gun, $20-30 shipping $10-20 handling + currency conversion). So paying $120-130 for one isn't that bad. Plus, that still falls short of the cost to use standard parts to mod the marker into something else, stock, barrel shroud and fake clip will run close to $150-200. So in comparison $130 isn't bad heh. I don't suppose there is anywhere to buy "replacement" parts of just the shell, that should have no problem getting over the border. Going to call the CBSA on Monday, hopefully I can get a hold of a real person so I can get (hopefully) a clear answer if a clear p90 will make it over the border.

Heh it's not the best but it's somewhere to start. I won't have the trigger grip sticking out the bottom and hopefully not the ass end sticking out the back.
It will probably make some of the collectors here eyes bleed, but oh well .
