Like you notice sometimes i do post a thread and for some reason it becomes a 5 page long info/bs page... i don't know why and i really just want to get my questions answered and be done with it... (Which always happen but sometimes not as smooth as i wish it would) but heh seems people really do love me or hate me^^ I can't help that and won't lose any sleep over it ether. When it comes down to it i just want to be prepare when its game time so i'm not the one dumbass thats missing something (and fingers get pointed). So yeah.. missing a camelbak hydration system (help me Armyissue!) and a walkie talkie (bleh shoulda got the one in NY when i had the change...). And believe it or not... i'm stressing because of that^^ Edit: Been reading past threads... seems 75% of the time it turns into crap/slugfest is when someone post something like 'stfu stop posting' and it ends 5 pages after and 20 people in the thread... I usualy just post a question, go do my stuff, and when i get an answer its all good... but seriously when someone drops in out of nowhere with his smartass comments... i stick around (I know i shouldn't! I'm sorry!!! My defensive nature always gets the better of me). I guess thats why i should be posted for guard duty... <-- weak attempt to making people lol)

Well if no camel backs that suffice are available, canteens the way to go.
When I first started, I used a nalgene bottle in my assult pack sometimes I clipped it to my vest or belt. I eventually moved onto canteen, then the damn clips on the pouch broke off. Im currently exploring the idea of a camel back but have yet to move onto that idea yet. You could try costco, I know its along shot and I know not all costcos carry the same stock, but I saw up at cosco the other night buying fruit and noticed they had some nice black backpack style camel backs for about 19.99.

Not all threads get the kitty cat dance.
Good luck with your hydration issue. Just to reiterate. Camel backs, available possibly at Costco, Can tire, walmart, zellers, sports stores, military whole sale outfitters, possibly superstore. Nalgene bottle, sports places, can tire, walmart Canteen, military surplus shops. Then theres always the option of a water bottle. Smaller ones can fit into mag holding slots on vests, but may slosh and hold very litte, they require to be refilled often on a hot day, and with out a fresh water supply handy, Water jug, paintball playfields main building, it could get a little harsh. Also, theres also walking kits. Try your local sports retailer, lulu lemon, walking/running room for these. http://walking.about.com/od/prpack/tp/singlepack.htm That idea is just a proposal, you may be able to rig something up. Numbers 3,8 and 10 arnt to bad for what you night need. You might be able to rig something up. But well nalgene bottle in an butt pack works good too.

Just bought a really crappy camelbak and some black krylon paint. If ANYONE laughs Saturday about my 1337 camelbak, watch your back!!!
It's just something temporary, and can be use as a 'back up' if i have friends or someone needs one. Thanks for the great info TS. Maybe those should be stickied in a clean thread for idea's if someone doesn't want or can't find a camelbak. |

Just add Ronan on your ignore list. I did that for the first few weeks that he was here!
Call R.Nicholls on Jean-Talon West. That's where I got my first Camelbak.

Another solution to the blue straw of doom coming from your pack is to simply add a "sock" over it of the appropriate color of camo you are using. I've seen plenty of CADPAT, there are probably some of every other color too.
Or just use it as it is, I mean, it works no? |

Unfortunately i don't have any MC fabric laying around (yet hehe). I'll try to find some fabric at the dollar store, something in the khaki colors. Edit: Bruce you jerk... you make me sad inside |

Try a bicycle shop, they sell hydration supplies.
P.S. All the "hehes" are kinda creepy. |

Is the game that you are going to be a skirmish or a milsim? I don't know about skirmish's in Quebec, but normally, at most skirmish games (or walk on), you don't even need to have a hydration pack with you, its just added unnecessary weight.
As long as you are going to take regular breaks, you can just fill up or (if you are lazy) buy a bottle of water/gatorade and leave it with your gear in the safe zone. The cammelbak/hydration systems are really only worth it if you are going to spend hours out in the field (ie. Milsim) with out time to go back to the safe zone to rebomb and rehydrate. OR You are those types that sweat like a proverbial pig and really need the hydration at all times (since you lose a lot of fluid fast). Then again, just my .02$ |
