I just receiver my URX front set along with the tool from WGCshop today and I can confirm that it is compatible with the Guarder New Generation M4/M16 receivers. The only problem you will face is that the gas tube is a little long and you may have to drill out the hole for it in the receiver. I'm debating this little modification. The kit dosen't come with any instructions, but if you go to G&P's website and search URX, the product page for both the URX conversion and the required tool has a good pictorial. I tried searching the internet prior to my purchase and didn't find a lot of concrete answers so I hope this helps.
Cheers, Taito. |

I suspect that the gas tube is that way since G&P receivers have a hole in them for their gas tubes to fit into. Ultimately I suppose you could cut down the gas tube, but I kinda like it going into the receiver... pretty much guarantees your delta ring will never come loose on its own.
Thanks for the update BTW

UPDATE:
Here's an image of the SR25 URX on Guarder's New Generation C8 Receiver. The top matches perfectly, and I'm just waiting for my November shipment from HK. |

That was a reply to a pretty old post, I think the answer is pretty well know by now: stocks like the CTR and M93 (and UBR) are being export restricted for civilian sales by the US Gov (State Dept? I think). So US civvies can get them, but not foreign civvies.

That's why you buy from huang
By the way, it's CTR, not CRT (cathode ray tube?!) Last edited by Styrak; October 20th, 2007 at 06:27.. |

And you can get CTRs from HK or AirsoftParts (real Magpul PTS ones, not knockoffs). Fine getting a knockoff of real parts that are too expensive or won't fit airsoft, but for th $20 you save on these stocks I'd rather support Magpul since they're actually bothering to make parts for airsoft.

to be honest, until i see it strapped on an SR-25, itll be just another rail system.

In the airsoft world it's being associated with the SR-25 because G&P made a URX version of their SR-25, but if you look at the KAC website, most of their rifle line (SR-15, SR-16, along with the SR-25) sport the new URX handguard/rail system.

I love the URX rail, it's a bit more sturdy on the receiver. I've a SR-25 URX and the sucker is a great thing to have on there, plus the tapered end keeps you from knicking your knuckles when changing mags in a rush. Not a major issue, but it saves that bit of distraction.
Since using this rail, I'm definitely thinking of going to a URX rail for my M16.

One of the things that really made me get this rail was the seamless transition between upper receiver and handguard. A lot of free float systems have a gap there that requires a riser and that gap happens to fall where I normally mount my aimpoint. I prefer to co-index so a bridge was out of the picture, and the CASV-style didn't really appeal to me so URX I went.

Still, i want to see some members around here mount them on their SR-25... it jsut seems to suit the squared edges of the upper reciever more. Throw on a crane stock and youre golden.
