I see well I can understand why you guys would want to restrict airsoft to people who are 18+ I wouldn't want to loose airsoft either ( to some kid who abused an airsoft gun, be it drive-by's or hold up's ). well I guess I can wait until im 18 right now me and my buddies are into scenario paintball so I'll roll with that for awhile. Besides alot of my friends are still in dought that airsoft in canada exist's using something other than the junk crappy tire guns

You cannot buy this legally. If your father buys it, he has to watch you as you use it at all times at an approved field. So you have much reading to do, go do it. |

Ok, so if you own guns, and you happen to have a large Woodlot to play on, you could use it, right? Because that would be "Private Property with permission of use". Or is that not allowed?

And unless your property is licensed and insured as a gun range, you cant shoot real guns there either. |

Yes Brad01. All the time. It should not surprise you.
We're not discussing real guns. What can happen or not with real guns during hunting season (and where) is not the same set of laws as for Replicas. The problem here is that people think the laws for airsoft/replicas are the same as for real guns. And underage people still try to find loopholes. Is this unclear? "NOT THE SAME LAWS". |

But you said unless you have a firing range license (and insurance) you are not allowed to discharge firearms on your property. That's a bit misleading, unless it is an actual federal law that applies to all provinces equally. If it actually does state in federal law that your average property owner can't discharge firearms on his own land (with the exception of hunting, I suppose, because we all know that's legal) then I have to restate that a lot of people are breaking gun laws with police knowledge. At least in my area, anyway. Quote:
I know all this. My concern was mainly with your statement about discharging firearms on private property. |

Very few people have the legal right to discharge a firearm on their property. The enforcement side is spotty at best, but that's not what is discussed here. If you think that being able to fire a real gun means you can shoot a replica anywhere, you are wrong.
Wether it's enforced by the police is another question, but that does not change the laws. When you talk about airsoft, forget anything else exists. To be TOTALLY legal, the user MUST be 18, and the place where the guns are used MUST be approved and insured for that use. Many folks refuse to wait until they are 18, and just play anywhere they want. Did you check the threads about idiots being caught with airsoft lately? Go read that. |

Man I think you should re-read the laws, there is no law that states you cannot discharge an unrestricted firearm on your on property.

oh man you did not just question greylocks did you? your just asking for it. Thats kind of like slapping the biggest guy you see on your first day in prison.
Just take it from a person somewhat the same age as you, its just easier to wait than get your parents to buy all your stuff for you and have them breath down your neck the whole time. Best solution: if your in manitoba, check out Xtreame Tactics so long as your over 16. pretty much the only way you can airsoft if your a minor with parental concent. If you really want fun gather some friends with their dads or something and have a parent vs kid round... best $30 i ever spent. as for the unrestricted firearms, its in there somewhere, but the police neither have the manpower or resources to enforce that rule, its mostly to keep people from shooting up their old cars in toronto not in the middle of no-where miami manitoba where hunting is hunting (did you know there is a miami in manitoba? there is) |

Now how about you make the same effort to get age-verified and read about laws that refer to Replicas as much as you read about real gun laws? Or the 30 seconds it would take to fill out your profile a bit? |
