I'm positive that replacing your cylinder with the proper one will remedy your FPS problems. Right now, the only power that the BB is having applied to it is from the BEGINNING of the piston cycle. With a longer barrel, the BB has a longer period of time to accelerate; similarly, with the proper cylinder, the piston has time to accelerate, and it starts pushing the BB at say 2/3 of the way through, leading to a smaller but much more powerful volume of air.

Speaking of which, I'd take a 350fps AEG shooting 350fps any day over a 400fps gun shooting 0.20g. Dealt with that enough times on the field and in thick brush, more often than not I get the kill, their BBs get hung up on dead grass or fly off tot he side or over my head because they went cheap and use 0.20g BBs all the time.

Cool, thanks for the replys! It sounds like the only way to get better range would be to use a longer barrel then eh? Does anyone know how much more distance that longer barrel would give me? Say if I changed it to an m16 barrel?
I guess its not that big a deal anymore since this weekend I just picked up an M4 to learn to do upgrades myself and took it apart a few times... I'm going to put a super long barel on that one for my outdoor games. But I am still curious if anyone knows how much more distance u get with a long barel? |
