I haven't tried .23s, yet, I'm afraid, but I have some .2s coming in by Friday- I should be able to get you some stats with that.
Yea that'd be great. Whats the maximum disance you can fire with your FAMAS? (i take it you havent upgraded the motor or anything). I don't really understand why people want to put much more powerful motors into the FAMAS, i wouldn't swap my rate of fire for more FPS. Especially seeing how the FPS is comprable to any other out the box AEG - including the 'so upgradable' M4A1.

Well, it can hit a man-sized target from over 40 metres away, and the groupings are amazing. Not sure the exact distance, though, but it's more then satisfactory.
I'm going to see if I can install a PSG1 tightbore in it, just for kicks- it'll only go out into the flash-hider, at least, and my massive silencer covers it.
Either that, or see if I can get my hands on the massive inner-barrel for the STAR L86, one of the 6.03 ones. That should improve it quite a bit.

EDIT- Anyways, if you want, you can add me to MSN if you have got any questions. It's in my profile.

Sure, will do. Ill let you know how my upgrade goes. At the moment im taking it slowly because when the Violent Crime Reduction Bill comes into effect in 2 monthes time in the UK and it may effect (or completly stop) airsoft in the UK as it is, so i dont want to invest heavily into my FAMAS if thats the case, but hopefully it won't be and i can continue as planned.

I already did that with mine. I put a prometheus tightbore 590mm into it, and it boosted the effective range by about 20 or 30 feet. The groupings got a little tighter as well, but that's about it.

an extra 20-30 feet isn't bad though at all though. Very nice. If i had the money i'd just buy the STAR L85 A2, seems like its probably the best Airsoft gun around at the moment in terms of balance.

Speaking from experience of using the real thing though, fighting in urban areas can be a main in the arse with the L85, its overpowered at short ranges and too big to easily move through small buildings, fine in warehouses etc. Also its inability to be fired left handed makes it less prefereable in buildings.
