go to any paintball field and they can chony it for you, i wouldnt downgrade the gun, it sounds pretty good as is for a novice player, i would either keep it on the shelf for the first bit and buy another aeg (famas', sig 552, src m4's are all relativley cheap around $400) to begin with, or sell it complete (your not going to recoup that much by parting it out), but by the time you downgrade it its going to cost the same as a new aeg.

Hey there swat13, if you didn't notice, he lives Stateside and a Marui aeg costs $229 down there and a spring is $10 and gears are $40. I don't see the savings in buying a new gun here. But a new gun can't hurt the situation, just gives you more options.

Oh... sorry.... my bad. i didnt factor that in seeing as it is airsoftCANADA I just ASS-U-ME-D (did you get it!? HA! im funny). but ya mcgyver is completly right. either way keep the gun until your sure that it isnt the one you prefer, rather than get rid of it and then regret it down the road. maybe look into getting a lpeg to mess around with at first.

Assume (erm...ASS-U-ME - huh?) for an instant it is an M130 spring...

Is it possible the small (MP5) cylinder coupled with the m4 barrel is limiting the FPS due to "suckback"?

-Cheese

I seem to remember the max barrel length for the "normal" (ie not MP5K) size cylinders to of about 420mm. The m4 barrel is rated at 407mm. This must not be the case.

He doesn't say it's got a stock cylinder. I just installed a full capacity cylinder in an MP5 for a guy who is getting an M4+ length barrel.

Thanks for the info guys. He isn't getting back to me so I dunno. Probably just going to hold onto the thing and plink around with it for a bit until I see which guns my friends end up buying.

Ok. I wasn't getting a bit of info from the guy so I decided to open it up & have a look for myself. First of all, it definately has metal bushings. I can't make out what kind of cylinder it has as there are no markings on it. Are their any identification marks that I should be looking for? As for the spring, again I have nothing to compare it too but there is definatley alot of tension in the spring when compressed. It is quite difficult to get the box back together.
While I have it apart I am going to downgrade the spring & keep everything else the way it is. Does this sound like a good idea? Only other question I have for you guys; The gears have all been shimmed. When I popped open the gearbox everything flew about & I do not know how much each gear was shimmed. What is the best way to remedy this? Is there a BEST WAY? Thanks guys.
