arnt most rated to 495fps or something?
I think they are just under the 500fps mark.

Good point. .22cal airguns hits a LOT harder than .177cal ones do. Must be a loophole somewhere.

.177 have higher velocities, so it compensates.
Overall my point was that even if your gun is technically legal, they can still give you grief.
A well balanced and setup gun does not need high fps to have great range or accuracy.
