I don't know about London, but "NO DUFF" is pretty much the standard call for "STOP! PLACE WEAPONS ON SAFE AND POINT YOUR BARREL AT THE GROUND! DO NOT FIRE, EVEN TO CLEAR THE GUN. REMAIN IN PLACE UNTIL DIRECTED OTHERWISE!", at least in Ontario. Always has been.

No Duff is the standard still, and should be. Some American events use Cease Fire as the "game stop" command, which is bad because your Out Of Game command to stop the game is absurdly close to the in-game command which is "Lift Fire" - and most Airscrubs (including myself) instinctively want to use Cease Fire anyways.

I'm new to this and at the few places I've played the call is 'Gun Safe'. Never heard of 'No Duff' but good to know.

Was expecting a Simpsons gag when I clicked on this.

I just tested my 11 and 10 year old, who have only played airsoft twice, and "what do you shout if there's a medical emergency on the field" for them to quickly say "no duff". So I think I've taught them well

"No duff" is a Commonwealth-wide term for a real-world emergency during an exercise. It's been a rule everywhere I've played and it appears to be used in the UK too.

The American equivalent is BLIND MAN.

I was at a game last year and the “No Duff” call is part of the rules write up. Got used when I lit a cinderblock on fire with an EG smoke.

I've been in the U.S. for training and have never heard "lift fire". Unless this is an airsoft specific term, the call to stop firing for any reason, be it the attack is done, the enemy is surrendering, or there's a reason on a range to halt all fire, has always been "CEASE FIRE! CEASE FIRE! CEASE FIRE!"

Though, even in the CF, a situation requiring a halt of everything due to an injury or dangerous situation has been called a "No duff" scenario many times during briefings prior to training.

I'm from Edmonton, as far as i can remember, all the games I've played, be it indoors or field, The term "NO DUFF" is used for a medical emergency and is stated so in the pregame brief. If there is a reason to stop firing, not medical, then "CEASE FIRE" is used, but we don't have that often.

I feel, and this is just MY 2 cents, that No Duff should be a thing at ALL fields and games. It should also be stated in all game briefs as there is no excuse for not following it.
