I'd pick an m4 styled gun over a scar.... the scar is just too bulky and very not streamlined... the m4 makes a much better platform with the multitude of upgrades and mods. You could also convert the m4 from a field styled with nade launcher etc. weapon into a short cqb weapon very easily. personally I'd run an m4 with a low profile keymod rail to keep it lightweight and maneuverable. Brands wise I love VFC and G&P but on a low budget I'd go G&G and S&T all the way... just dont blow your money on useless accessories, cos all you really need is a red dot and maybe a foregrip and you are good to go...

Also, if you're considering gas, the Scar has a significantly lower rate of fire, compared to the M4. That's because of the size and mass of the Scar bolt.
