Gbb Vs AEG?

GBBRs make better use of heavier ammo though. You'll get better stock performance.
Saying AEG's are more reliable than GBBRs is pretty misleading. That's like saying ford is better than dodge....but better at what? Certainly not the cars =p
There are more AEGs than GBBRs in winnipeg, and if you break down the demographics, most of those GBBRs are either WE open bolt or KJs, and most of the AEG's are G&G, KWA, KA, ARES, CA, and quite a few china brands. Not exactly top notch stuff.
So judging by the guns that come across my desk, I'd say WE open bolts and KJs are significantly more reliable than 2nd/3rd pony airsoft guns.
GBBRs also tend to be more difficult for idiots to break lol

Bad thing about GBB is if your into a long milsim and you will have to load your mags with gas, you will loose a lot of time compared to just changing batteries. Plus the time of loading the BB's themselves

And you don't have to load your AEG mags with BB's? Not sure I see your point her. Also gassing up is pretty quick.

Agreed even hand loading 30bb's and gasing is aboit as fast as speed loading 100bb's. Plus if you can shoot and know when to shoot loading 300 rounds (10 gbbr mags) should last you a day of skirms. Unless you think yer m4 is a saw. In that case stick to aegs and baby rattles (hicaps that is)
Last day of skirms i ran 5 gbbr mags and had to reload onece at the end of the day after some crazy king of the hill action.

I know that with the 3stick battery and Modstock it was a pain in the ass to change, especially when the wiring was "skinnning"/cutting against the edges of the batt compartiments' edges

Just for that, GBBR is worth it IMO :P

I prefer GBBs because you can feel the action of the gun and it doesn't have the laser gun kind of trigger that AEGs have. They're also a lot simpler to dissemble than AEGs.

The main disadvantage is that magazine capacity is limited and magazines are horrifically expensive. They are less reliable and more expensive than cheap AEGs, but my KJW m4 is pretty reliable after putting in only a couple mods.

One thing tho. Gbb's arent as reliable in the cold.

Don't get me wrong, AEG's have there place. If I ever want to lend mine out to a friend, when they loose the $10 Magazine or two, I wont feel as bad. Also as pointed out before there better in the cold till your gearbox cracks. I'm not planning on selling mine anytime soon but I don't think I'll buy another unless I pick up a support weapon. I've been bitten by the GBB bug and there is no way I'm going back.

Well, the HPA ones are reliable in the cold. If they weren't so expensive, the HPA guns would be the ultimate tier of airsoft guns.

Loading of GBBR is not that slow, But how long each gas loaded will last ? You basically need to do both after 2 mags (same magazine). That's around 60 to 80 rounds.

Whereas a large battery or lipo can easily last for more than 1,500 rounds of BBS. And the battery shape much easier to carry when compared with propane or gas can. It is quite easy to see which way is more efficient, epecially it is a long milsim game where leaving the field too often is not encouraged.

But I agree that it is the playstyle preferred by different players. So it is all about personal preference.
