Sorry for the necro, but I am in the market (for real steel) for a similar setup. I find I am at a crossroads. My current Eagle plate carrier with cummerbund sits too low when I wear my HSGI blast belt.

Do people normally wear both? Or do they switch between belt only and vest only?

What plate carrier would you recommend that rides high so that i can wear both it and the blast belt?

FYI, I planned on running a Safariland holster with MLS on my war belt.

People do usually wear both , if your plate carrier is sitting too low it probably needs to be adjusted higher or is the wrong size.
Your plate carrier should end 1 to 2" above the top of your belt.

LBT 6094 and Crye JPC plate carriers are probably the best vest/carrier to use with a blast/battle belt. They both ride very high, have a low profile, and are extremely comfortable. I use a Flyye JPC (Crye repro) and I have no mobility issues using both. I have team mates that use the 6094 and they fit almost exactly the same.

When you say belt, are you referring to my pant's belt, or my war belt?

Currently my PC is overlapping my warbelt and there is zero gap (after adjusting) between my belt and my PC :S

I'll take a look at the Crye, but that's pricy stuff. I'm looking at the 6094, and there are a lot of versions of it. It makes my head spin.

Plate bottom should end at the top of your belly button. Both your pants and battle belt should have the same center.

That is exactly how it's set up. But because the belt is so wide (3 rows of MOLLE webbing) it meets with the PC. Perhaps I'm just short?

I'll look at some high-riding PC options.

Thanks

Found this PC. Anyway have any experience with it? They say it rides high purposely to accommodate a battle belt.

Check out the Shellback Tactical Banshee. It's a cheap affordable PC a lot of shooters (both airsoft and RS) use. Rides high on the body to accommodate battle belts

I've seen that gear, but I honestly didn't know it rode high up. I thought it was more in line with my current Eagle PC. Are you certain of this? I don't want to buy it before know that

Another high riding vest option is the SORD Plate Hanger

6x6 Molle, I'm a short guy and it sits 2" from my belt.

Looks nice, but no cumberbund?

kk. i think i found the issue for me. the way i look is exactly the way it is in this video. i personally found this video invaluable as the eagle plate carrier sites exactly how it does on me. also helped me out because the war belt in that video is an HSGI one too.

The plate hanger is pretty much like a FAPC. I own the plate hanger and it is cheap! (cheap as in price wise, its good kit!) I have also owned a FAPC then sold it. IF you want to clear space on the sides for pistols on your waist, having no cumberbund is a really good option.

I am definitely shorter than you and I have tried the fake JPC and it does work well with a battle belt. youshould have no problem with either a JPC, FAPC, plate hanger, banshee or a 6094 so long as you wear it high on your torso like you are supposed to.

Yep, Easier for the belt option though. I've had an FAPC and a LBT6094B, I honestly hated the FAPC and liked the 6094 a bit more, but got sick of having a cummerbund. Another idea is having an elastic cummerbund on the 6094/EIPC style carriers, there for you can hold mags on the sides, and have a low profile, with nothing in the way of accessing items on your belt.

I'll be honest, I love having a small plate carrier carrying the essentials, and a belt carrying my CFA Med Pouch, side arm mags and holster. In the end its the Users choice on how they have their kit set up, 1st line or not, Set it up how ever you feel comfortable and best with it.

When you see pictures/videos of Chris Costa, RB1, Travis Haley, they run their kit for speed over comfort, because they usually train for situations that require a fast reaction.
