Also be careful where you throw it. I had one go 30 feet out, bounce off of the one tree in front of me and land directly back in my hands. Had I not been wearing good gloves, that could have sucked tremendously for me.

In a test, we tried to set fire with a cold burning smoke and we didn't get any flame, even a small one. Is it theorical they can set fire or someone really succeded to do it ?

It was mid summer on the dry grass and we even put dry news paper under it.
The paper and grass did'nt catch fire, it just got ''black rubberized''. 2 of us + 4 witnesses. If someone has proof of it setting fire to something, I'd like to see that for myself because I dont beleive it. The only thing that will happen is that it will get pretty hot so if something has a weak ignition temperature it might but like I said, we made that proof ourselves. |

Guys ignition hazard depends on how dry your brush is. Out here you can start a fire if you park a car in the tall grass along with other day to day activities.
It is hot and sunny all day with zero humidity in the summer time at most of the local fields so the fire hazard is in the red for months.

During our test, woods and grass was very dry and it was sunny and hot. As said, we used paper too and no fire start. It is why we asked if someone have seen with his own eyes, a fire started because a cold burning smoke.

it would also depend on what brand of smoke nade u tested like i said earlyer those tactical omes they carry get too hot to hold where as in the video you see the guy hold it a good long time, i also had some that i got off of ebay befor, they wer cool to hold till about half way through the 90sec burn time but they shot out a flame/spark like a road flare or a roman candle does, it was winter time so setting fire wasnt an issue but i wouldnt wanna use those ones in the summer or fall for sure theyd ignite brush.
all of theese smoke nades will burn differently and have different designs so some will be safer then others

well those ones arent too bad most of the time but if you face the opening that the smoke comes from toward somthin flamable it can catch fire, and the ebay ones i got almost looked the same just with no lable on the outside and they would catch fire on their own the cardboard tube they are in.
these new ones seem they burn colder then any ive used tho i cant confirm this till i get my grubby hands on em and test but they look promising in the video. just be extra carefull useing any pyro especially near dry tall grass, loads of fallen leaves on the ground, and pine or cedar needles as they are naturally flameable due to their oils and so is birch bark extra flameable even in the wet and rain

Spoiler Alert!
If the grass is green it's alive. If it's alive it's not dry, and the ground isn't dry either.

I too have set one with a cold burning smoke it was really dry and I didn't hang on to it long enuff when it hit some smoldering cold smoke chunks came out the smoke hole and ignited the dead grass on the roadside, damn good thing a teamate was two feet away to stomp it out. And it was a tactical smoke grenade weather it was a fluke or not who knows but I've seen it and caused it.
