Wow. Polycarb being the one to avoid is news to me - the polycarb material was actually the reason I went with the modify white high speed ones.

Yeah. Just like ThunderCactus said, Nylon is the cats pyjamas for its special properties. It's also pretty light for its favourable properties.

Polymide is sometimes mislabelled as polycarb. If its clear its polycarb. If its not its polymi.de if there is fibrous material its nylon/fibre generally speaking.

I've had a couple Modify purples in the stable, they come with Modify's rather nice compression kits (cylinder/nozzle/etc). Otherwise I would rarely see them
![]() My experience with the Modify purples is that the pickup tooth doesn't shatter or shred right away, but rather kinda "melts" as it gets pounded into submission by the sector gear in the presence of uncorrected AoE. While waiting for some Lonex pistons to come in, I've been trying one in an AK build and it is holding up fine, however, I've got it moved back about 3/16th of an inch with a scatterplot sorbo pad. Seems to hold up in testing (M120) for now.... For now ![]()

If the piston is clear or translucent, it is most likely polycarbonate. Nylon-polyamide and POM is always opaque.

Modify white "high speed" pistons are my favorite... I've yet to strip one. My dad runs one in his CA m4 and it's been going strong for about 3 years now with virtually no wear.
