550 FPS on 0.20g is 2.8 Joules. 450 field limit on 0.20g is 1.87 Joules.

That means the maximum energy you're allowed to play at is 1.87 Joules.

So, if you want to shoot 0.43g BBs, that means your maximum velocity is 307 FPS on 0.43g, or 450 on 0.20g.

If you don't understand how that works, please refrain from gaming with a sniper rifles until you do, for everyones' safety.

There is a reason why players take the sniper courses. The player that hit me is a very well known sniper in Ontario. I seen him at the last second and as I ducked I received the hit. He was aiming center mass but it was a accident it hit square in my forehead. I Have removed a BB from a players head that lodged in from a gun shooting 450 fps at a distance of 25 ft. Can you imagine a accident from a new player shooting 500-600. There are only a small handful of players in Ontario I would let use that power at any of my games.
i understand what ur saying but i unfortunatly dont have the luxury of being able to get to a sniper clinic to get certified as they are all rather far away from me and i only have the family car or i would have gotten ba level 3 or higher by now. but that being said i dont aim for the head at all and my closest engagements with my gun are atleast 100 FT anything closer i use my ics m4 or pistol. I alost always aim for center mass ass the head is a smaller target and harder to hit. the only time i did take a shot at a guys head was when he was at 150ft and it was the only part of him showing and he had full face and head protection on

so in conclusion im not an idiot when it comes to sniping i just use my common sence and brain when it comes to sniping so not to piss someone off or more importantly hurt someone

This is exactly why game admins need to Chrono at every game accidents happen and besides that anything over 500fps atleast in Alberta is considered a firearm... Besides that I have an ASR with a Magpull PTS PRS stock on it (if you look up asr on here you will find out how me and another guy did it. $180 but fully adjustable length and cheek well. Next I put in an adjustable APS@ PDI hopup. a ASP2 480mm tightbore and a silencer to cover it. you have to bore out the threaded cap to get a barrel through it though. Next the PDI APS2 spring guide and piston. Echo1 also makes a cheap version. Also got a R hop up rubber made for me.

Now its shoots 450fps with 0.2's I use 30's because most fields you have to use bio BB's it will hit a torso sized paper at 300' no problem.

http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filn...s/fps_calc.htm

Every says it's the FPS on 0.2g BBs. Common sense alone should tell you that shooting someone with a heavy BB at 500+ FPS is fucking stupid. You claim to be "careful" and "only aim for centre mass". Yea, well, I've been to games with an FPS limit where people are using banned silica BB's with hot guns. So forgive us if we need a little more than your word.

What you're talking about is just dangerous. Field limits exist for a reason. If you don't understand them, you have zero business with a hot gun.

ok well this is why i posted this so i could gather more information and insight on being a sniper in airsoft now that i have learned a few things from people i am going to be doing a stock upgrade and barrel and piston and spring guide upgrade as well as modifying the cocking handle so it will be more to my comfort and i plan on having my gun shooting about 450 now and i will probably be using 28-35 gram bbs depending on whats available

That's not exactly right. .177 Pellet guns are capable of firing over 500 FPS with "high speed" pellets. The requirement of "AND" 5.7 Joules is there for a reason. Otherwise I know some people who own Dasies and Winchesters that could technically be "firearms" if you use the right type of pellets and they don't have their PAL's (and no I don't mean the legit "over 500 FPS" ones that you actually do need a PAL for).

I don't know how someone can even misunderstand the FPS limit
Can't be shooting over 470fps, or else we don't have time to dodge it! lol
