This is the bipod that I ordered.

I had the same one on my L96 sniper riffle, and it worked great on that gun. A whole lot better than the one that comes on the ASR.

I will let you know how it works when I get it in my hands.

That's a great bipod... and it's called a "Versapod"... from the original maker.

The Maruzen APS-2 Type 96 stock bipod is really nice too, but hard to find.

I have had a few enquiries about how I got the Magpul - PRS Butt Stock to fit onto my Echo1 ASR Riffle, so I figured that I would post my response here so that everyone could read it.

The problem that I had is that the Magpul - PRS Butt Stock that I bought was made for installation on a AEG.
The Echo1 - ASR isn't an AEG and the way that the Buffer Tube mounts on the back of the gun is totaly different than the way that the buffer tube is attached to an AEG. So the bottom line is that I couldn't use the metal Buffer Tube that came with the PRS.

Instead I had to modify the plastic one that comes on the ASR. I had to cut and grind the track thing off of the lower side of the Buffer Tube, and then I had to make the plastic buffer tube a millimeter or two smaller in diameter by sanding the Hell out of it.

Once I did that I was able to get the PRS to slide on and then there is a saddle thing that you bolt on to keep the Butt Stock securely in place.

The whole thing took me maybe 3 hours of fiddling to get just right, but now that it's on, it feels rock solid and it is really comfortable to shoot with. Hope this helps, good luck.

HAHA Mine shows up on friday then I have some gun doc work to do first and then Instalation/swearing will commence.... I am very excited though hopefully it all turns out and the money spent will be well worth it. Fot the same price could have bought an M24 that shoots lights out but my hope is that this comes out looking WAY better specially after I paint it and will also shoot lights out!

WOW received it finally, that stock is a beast i was expecting a typical plastic magpul stock.... NOPE this thing is solid metal and heavy duty worth every penny. once I get the new aps2/L96 PDI barrel, madbull 6.01mm barrel and PDI barrel spacers. The new stock is going on and as stated before the swearing will commence during that process.

Please let me know when and how that bi pod shows up and if it clips on properly.

Bipod arrived and it's awesome. It fits on the gun nicely and it is way more sturdy that the stock one. I did a little bit of tweaking to tighten up a tiny bit of looseness in the fitment, but for the money you can't go wrong with this bipod.

Can't wait to hear how things go with your barrell upgrades etc. keep me updated!

Well I recieved the 3-9X blue illuminated scope... It is a great looking scope and the laser it stupid powerful makes for easy sighting. The gun is still at the gun docs getting the parts and hopup work done. Super excited to get it back in my hands and get all the externals done on it. Also ordered the versa pod but will still be awhile.

I ended up taking your advice, and I went to Cabelas and bought a little better quality scope insted of just getting a $50 "knock off" one on Ebay.

I got a 3-9x40 scope and it looks a heck of alot better mounted on the gun than the little shit one that I had on it in the pics.

Next up is the Echo 1 upgrade kit! I will keep ya posted.

do you ever game it? or do you still just plink and target shoot?
also, what kind of range and accuracy are you getting after the mods?

Sorry I'm no help to you there. I'm just a plinker, and I haven't done any performance upgrades to my gun yet.

I am consistantly able to hit pop cans at 100 feet with ease. I have heard of guys saying that they can hit man sized targets at about 250 feet, but I have never tried any shots that far.

At 100 feet (measured) it will dent the hell out of a pop can, and every once in a while it will penetrate the can too.

I am planning on upgrading a few of the internals shortly, so I will keep you posted when I have something to share.

Good Luck

So I just completed putting the Echo1 Upgrade kit into my ASR and I thought that I would share the results with ya.

First off I couldn't believe how easy the kit was to install. I have never done anything like this before, and begining to end, it took me 20 minutes! Cool!

I don't own a Chronometer, so I had to design a bit of a "Hillbilly Chrono" to test how the upgrade worked.

I lined up 4 empty pop cans and layed a piece of wood across the top of them to hold them in place when I shot them.

I placed the gun about 2 feet from the end of the line of cans and I shot a BB at them.

Before the upgrade kit, a .30 BB went clean trough both sides of the first can, and then dented the piss out of the second can.

After the upgrade, the BB went clean through both sides of the first 2 cans, and then beat the shit out of the third can. Infact a couple of BBs actually penetrated one side of the third can! Double Cool!

So I don't know the actual FPS difference, but all in all, for $40.00 bucks, the upgrade kit seems to add a lot of power to this gun, an dI would recommend it to anyone (so far anyway).

I would love to keep writing about my Engineering feet, but I got to go look for a cheap Chrono now.
