STEYRS are beautiful - I forsee a one-piece upper receiver that you just replace any existing AUG one with - sold by WGC first...for a ton of cash!

Seriously - I would be really surprised if a aftermarket company built one of these - LayLax perhaps...hard to say.

that looks very deadly and futuristic. plus i bet its more sturdy and could take a beating more then a normal AUG.

Gorgeous. I think even without the surefire or the eotech (just with flip-up sights that fit on the top rail) it'd look incredible.

Moded phantom (file the sides to make it an octagonal shape), G36 top rail, cut off top part of the civilian upper. With some JBWeld (or actual welding and grinding?) attach it all.

Classic Army is rumoured to be making a new Steyr AUG with a RIS unit. It's still totally unknown if it'll be an A3 or just an ugly RIS unit stuck onto an AUG (if they make one at all). (IIRC they said it at some gun/airsoft/hobby show in the past)

CA still won't tell me what colour the A2's are and mine's being shipped as we speak :S so I don't blame them for the lack of information though.

Steyr AUG A3... so hot right now

/edit I've seen some speculation that the switch above the magwell is related to STANAG mag compatibility

we cna only hope.. that way, people who buy an airsoft after an armalite dont have to buy completely new mags.

i have an aug and the pot metal that the upper reciever is made out of can't be welded to you will just burn right thru it. You could use Duramix which is alot easier to sand/mold as it is for body work.

I guess having my qcb aug barrel/conversion might come in handy

Whoa, old topic bump.
I did seriously start to look into this project, In the end the majority of the parts to make it look correct are available. G36 tops, the rails and modding. However it would never look exactly like the proper model.
I was holding out hoping that CA would put one out since they now are building Augs but they decided to stick with the A1/A2 models.
I don't think that there will be any conversion kits anytime soon unfortunatly as this weapon hasn't been seen in popular movies yet. But you never know.

The Action RAS is not the A3.

Aye, the AUG A3 is in itself an entirely different reciever, whereas the ACTION requires a TM 'Civilian' reciever to work.

But on that note, I really don't like how you need to remove the vert grip to actually use the thing. Admittedly, it's a personal preference thing, but I honestly find even the vertical grip a bit far too forwards (although I have short stubby arms) and end up holding the forward part of the handguard instinctively.

i read in another post that GnG i thinbk was making the kit, (im not sure if it was real steal or not either) for the a2, and also that tm was considering the a3 for the 07 line up. cant remember were i read that to back it up, but ya... rumor and hearsay are the staple of asc.

No, we usually like to go on facts. Leave rumours to Arnies.
