It get's worse when someone with a an upgraded AEG starts hosing you from farther out than you can fire back.
As a wow that's a cool showpiece that hangs on a wall and gets out to a game once a year sure. As this is my regular go to boomstick; no way (have seen it in person). The real one is only practical because it can reach out so far that no one can spot the shooter and fire back before they've bugged out. The size is not a handicap in that scenario.

One of the guys out west bought one. Sucks to be him the softest it will shoot is 8MM 43g BB at 480fps which works out to roughly 630fps with 20g 6mm So there is no way to game it and in a legal sence it's a Firearm.
Looks awesome! will blow up a full can of coke something awesome but that is about the only use. |

This rifles minimum with .48 is 325 with the co2 bolt its around a 50% increase frome 325 so around 487.5 fps so he shopuld be fine with the green gas bolt. but the co2 will be an issue.

I'm sure something like that will only ever be used by one of those "trusted" snipers, the sort of people at games where nobody cares what he's shooting. Plus, I'd run it on duster to drop the velocity if the Green Gas is still pushing it.
Would I pay that money? Doubtful... Although... Must... Not... Spend... |

And no I didn't upgrade it it shoot to par with local club standards. But the co2 bolt will over do it by about 200 feet. With the c02 bolt I can get about 375 ft out of it with .48's on a non windy day.

Also, FPS doesn't really say much, did you actually upgrade anything else? Fox. |

The accuracy would probibly be about a 8" diameter. And no nothing has been upgraded but I did send out a few emails for a tight bore and it looks promising.

I can get a human sized target at 450 ft. But with some trial and error 500 wasn't too hard, about 6/10 hit.

hey ive got the barrett 50 from socom gear and bought it just cause i personally thought it was sweet.....i know that socom gear has the m200 and so does ares....but what about the beta project m200??? the springer.....has anyone had experience with it??? i was thinking about getting one....i seen a review that said its alot lighter than the socom gear one and you dont have to pick up shells after your done shooting. the price is alot better on it too, you can pick one up for 500 to 600$ in the states and if its shooting 366fps to 500fps im sure you can import it. im thinking about it.....any thoughts??

Fully upgraded VSR-10 variants strive for a max range of 300ft. (in the best of field scenarios), with human-sized accuracy; that's a well stablished rifle, at 600 FPS (and FPS is the LEAST important factor here, anyway), and with years of research behind it (as well as TONS of custom work and trial and error from each individual user). And I'm supposed to buy it you measure it right, and some STOCK gun, just because it's shooting hot is supposed to go that far, that precise? Just 'cos it's a Cheytac and it cost a fortune doesn't mean it's supposed to act like its RS counterpart; specially not OOtB. Plus, no offense, but if I see someone gaming that thing, I just stop for a sec to laugh at 'em. Fox. Last edited by Fox62; March 6th, 2012 at 13:54.. |

Measured with a measuring wheel on a road with a slight decine, on a windless day at about +3 at a styrofoam rectangle 3x6.5 (not exactly to human scale but meh). With madbull .48g 8mm bb's powerd by co2. I'm not saying it was practical in any scence shooting at 500ft but it is possible if your targets asleep or just being silly and not moving.

I'd buy the ares one before the socom gear cause its gas and spring and shoots 6mm so you can use BB Bastard CNC machined BBs (Nites and pearls). But this is if i have either A)an insanely good paying and secure job. B)lottery.
J_march- Beta project M200 is an ARES rebrand. |
