Im looking at a few m14's now. Their relatively cheap, each shooting 320-350fps which is an excellent upgrade from the 225fps I have now, its spring which is what I want...I just love springs and I don't know why lol, 37 round mag so I may have to purchase another and it come in a bunch of colours, I can get it with a scope, flaslight and tactical rail. Looking good to me.

Most everyone on this forum will tell you to get “Age verified” and buy from the classifieds.
You cannot import any guns from websites outside of Canada. Airsoft is a 18+ sport Sniping is not for newbies If you are underage please do not try to circumvent the system in place, its there for a reason. Nobody will help you get a gun if you are not age verified or underage Do not play in your backyard/forest or anything of the like. Only play on official fields. Please read the FAQ’s LINKS! @ Cyklops: You need to recognize that a "decent" M14 will set you back $350-$400 minimum. These spring guns you are listing are garbage and will only lead to disappointment. Once you get AV'd you will have access to the classifieds and there is a whole world of awesome AEGs and other airsoft weapons to be had, you just need to be a little patient.
I'm sorry to say this, but if you cannot afford to shell out $600-800 to get into the sport then it isn't for you right now; once you are out of school and have a decent paying job/career on the go then you'll be able to afford it. Airsoft isn't for someone in a low income bracket, plain and simple. I'm not trying to "troll" your thread, just being very honest about your situation. Maybe see if you can get out to some games in your area and rent a gun if you are really desperate to get some game time under your belt. Last edited by Kokanee; August 27th, 2010 at 00:04.. |

This is terribly disappointing lol. Im only 17, so I have to wait a full year to get access to the classifieds. I really want, no I need a new and better gun. Ive owned several airsoft guns, all terrible quality as they were from Canadian Tire or Wal-mart. And im not new at the sport by any means, ive been playing it for over 2 years now. Thing is, I don't want to buy a gun thats going to run me $200-$300 right now because the people I play with don't take it as serious as myself, only me and another actually wear BDU's and the such. If I did however get involved with my local airsoft group I would consider buying something expensive.

Thing is, whether the people you play with take the sport seriously or not, a solid, reliable gun is always worth your money, and a cheapy is never worth your money.
I've watched those Walmart guns literally fall apart on the field. How many times do y'gotta spend however much money on junk before it becomes worthwhile to actually go the extra mile and get something that'll last you for years? |

You are 17, and obviously cannot tell the difference between a "want" and a "need". Airsoft anything is a "want", you should be focusing on finishing school, working a part time job to save for your first car and trying to touch a boob... priorities man! priorities!

Actually, im trying to get a job now cause im going to have to pay for insurance, I get moms old car which isn't too bad at all. But ill probably just use the gun I have now for awhile until it breaks and when it does ill buy a much better gun than. Im sick and tired of guns breaking all the time.

I'll tell you this, it's all about discipline.
I'm in school right now and basically make no money. Yet I have the discipline and budgeting skills to keep my hobbies in check. ie. Do I "need" a new computer? or do I just want a new computer? Obviously it gets a bit muddled with my major (Geographic Information Systems) but having a nice computer is a realized want. So actually what I ended up doing was instead of getting some OMFG kick ass computer, I settled for saving my money and next year depending on what the consensus is either getting a Bulldozer computer or a SandyBridge computer (with the pricepoint that meets my goals). I'd also actually like a car but it's also a want (but kind of a need as well with some of these co-op jobs that I'm trying to land). I already know that I want a JZX100 so what to do? I've saved as much money as I could and hopefully in a year or so when the JZX100 becomes legal for import I'll get one.

Nobody uses .12s, they're well known for destroying guns lol 360 on .12s is about 290-300 on .20s which is stock classic army or tokyo marui FPS doesn't make a huge difference, you can have a 310fps rifle and a 400fps rifle with the same range. But definitely save your money and buy something in the classifieds here. Do you research and by the time your 18 you'll know what you want, and what you need to stay away from! Cheap guns will run your 200-300$, and a year later when it breaks or you want something better, it's probably not going to be worth 100$ lol A 1yr old marui M4 starter package will be around 500$, use that for 2 years, then when you decide to buy something with a metal body, that starter kit will be worth around 480$ I sold a fully upgraded 6yr old marui G3SG1 with a metal body and 10 mags for $700. 6 YEARS!!! That gun is almost 8 years old now and still going strong Still in great condition too lol The extra money is always worth it in airsoft! |

$200-$300 is the absolute MINIMUM you should be spending on an airsoft gun.
