I've got an ICS MP5, and it's treated me right so far.

With that said, it's the only MP5 I have any experience with (I'm a total new guy) so I can't compare to others, but if you had to go with ICS I don't (personally) think you'd have much in the way of complaints.

Hmm, so MP5 has only CA and ICS that are reliable? How about G&G? or Cyma which are what some ppl are suggesting

G&G mp5 body parts is so hard to find... unless you get the new metal receiver for CA version with the bolt hop up. If you go with ICS mp5 its easier to find the metal receiver and it has better trademarks. ICS receiver are TM and CA compatible by the way. I rather have G&G mp5 over CA mp5, only full metal one's though.

Well, the PDW I had on my table had full metal alloy body in a single large and heavy piece, compared to CA and its split upper receiver (and kinda thin) the CYMA don't have to blush.
I don't know much about TM ones but as said : pay an extra body.

Why do you think it has better trademarks?

Well, as we had discussed when I AVed you, any electric pistol is worthless. The only "advantage" (and I use that term loosely) is that it will perform equally poorly in any temperature. EBB (electronic blow back) are plain garbage. Lowest of the low end, even the TM ones. Only good part about the TM ones is they won't break on you after a few shots. And personally, I think having it break after a few mags would be a blessing, because it would make the buyers realize the gun is shit. You're lucky if you'll hit 100 fps. You'd be better loading BBs into a straw and blowing them out.

AEPs (automatic electric pistols) are a fair bit better. They don't have the fake blowback action, but tend to perform better. Their velocity is in the low 200s, about on par with GBB pistols running on HFC 134a (duster) gas. But once again, the only real advantage is that you can use them in cold weather without degrading performance whereas most GBBs may not even work at all below -5ºC. And all AEP (as far as I know) have a full-auto setting, regardless of whether the real gun it's modelled after has select fire or now. Their performance is lackluster, and the only way I would recommend them is if people want a sidearm for outdoor winter games.

GBB are the way to go. TM and KSC are alway my 2 top choices just because of the availability of parts (both OEM and aftermarket upgrades) and the general knowledge base that goes with them in the community. Ask for help fixing one of those guns, and you'll have good support. Ask for help with some other bastard brand, and the knowledge base drops significantly. It's hard to go wrong with either of those brands, really. They're both excellent quality.

KJW are a good low cost starter gun. I've had a KJ M9 for several years now, and it still works great, although it's got its minor issues now that it's showing its age. They're MOSTLY TM compatible, but have some differences, and KJW parts are next to impossible to get should you need them. TM parts can sometimes be modified to fit, but it's a pain in the ass and if not done right, the part is basically ruined. Also KJW mags (at least the M9) suck balls and leak like a sieve even with proper maintenance. TM M9 mags don't work well in KJW M9s because of a slight dimension different in the mag (about 1mm shorter) and a slightly different mag catch in the pistol. This prevents it from forming a good seal between the mag's gas lips and the blowback unit in the slide. However, KJW mags tend to work great in TM guns.

I have no experience with the KSC M9. I have a KSC Glock 17 and it's been my main workhorse gun for the last 3 seasons. KSC are very reliable, well built, and parts are also readily available. And KSC have a great reputation for building reliable guns.

KWA are also good pistols. The older models were basically KSC guns made in Taiwan instead of Japan, and came with metal slides without trademarks, compared to Japanese-made guns that came with plastic slides and trademarks. I'm not up on the details of the new KWA System 7 models. I do know they're very gas efficient and work in low temperatures where other GBBs typically don't. I believe this is the same gas system that the KWA PTP (Professional Training Pistol) is based on.

The PTP M9 is a beautiful gun. You start off with an all metal (except outer barrel) gun made of good materials. They're very accurate to the real thing in terms of weight. Only the lack of real trademarks sets them apart. I know that the PTP mags were very to find a while back. I haven't heard much about them recently, so I don't know for sure.

And whoever recommends HFC pistols (other than the M11 which is actually not bad) should hang their head in shame. Recommending HFC is like recommending people send their 10 year old boys to Michael Jackson's house for a sleepover (when he was alive, of course). Nothing good can come of it.

Because I have one. All you get from Classic Army trademarks are B&T and serial number. ICS has all the right trademarks and unique serial number. I could show you mine if you like and tell me if you don't think it doesn't have nice trademarks. I guarantee you it has better trademarks than CA, JG, ECHO 1 and TM.

I lulz a bit when i read that, although i don't know whether to be ashamed or not since he is dead >.>

Anyway, hmm...there is alot to take into consideration, but i think i may get the KSC m9 beretta and the CA full Metal MP5. They both seem to be relatively easy to obtain, with spare parts and "doctors on call," so that would be a real bonus. I will definitely look into some of the different offers b4 i make my purchase though.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, it has been a very helpful thread =)

PS: Does the new KSC M9 beretta system 7 use CO2 gas or green gas/propane? Or does this depend on the magazine that i put into the gun?

Depends on the magazine but I dont think KSC makes CO2 mags. Only GG/Propane.

That's good to know. I would prefer Propane anyway.

Never handled a TM M9, but the KWA M9 PTP is outstanding. For the MP5 go with classic army.
