Tighten your adjustment screw in all the way. It should lock up the cycling and cause the gun to just click when you pull the trigger. Back it off a turn or two and see if the noise goes away. If it doesn't, then you have a stripped gear, either the bevel or the spur gear.

And if your gun has goen through 5000 rounds, Ken won't be able to do anything for you except suggest a tech or two to take your gun to get checked out/fixed.

+1

if you live in the Ottawa/Gatineau region, I could have a look at it... :P

BTW there is always a risk of getting "lemons" with SRC.... :S

lol.... then its a motor adjustment problem.... what you are looking for is between the click and the shceeeeching sound.... not unscrew the motor adjustment screw to the minimum...then tighten it SLOWLY with Quarter to Half turns until it sounds and cycles the gearbox normally.... like in the video.....

Battery getting very warm and motor too, is because all the electrical energy that is supposed to go into the rotation of the motors, is going back into the battery, since the motor is "locked" (when it is set too high) so that could burn your motor, and the battery!....

So how do I avoid damaging the battery or the motor adjusting? Does the adjustment come out of place very often on it's own?

I recently installed a magpul PTS MOE grip and the adjustment screw is very loose as I can turn it with my thumb. last game it slowly backed out and cause me to have issues that day. fortunately, the adjustment screw helped me find another issue.

adjusted it the other day and put a little bit of loctite on it.

its not supposed to...but could un-adjust itself because of the vibration generated by the motor...

Battery will be damaged if the motor adjustment is too high, and you hear the "click" sound, and it doesnt fire, and you keep pulling the trigger..... that will burn both motor and battery....

but did you manage to adjust the motor heigh properly?

Give it to a local gundoc, or ask if someone could do it for you at a local game/event...
