any chance you can post your cuts? depending on how well you recorded each piece etc? I would love to build one. but dont have anything to measure up I work on an airbase. Dont have many 50 cals lol

I do want the pop, with the fear of god effect. lol

I was going to go with gas, "Vortex hop-up system". or a custum gas operated rig.
But I am also looking at simplisity, easy of maintanance and easy for player use.
I can always switch up the internals at any time.

Nice work! I'm using the M249 in my 30 Cal and plan to use the same thing in the 50 Cal that I've started to build. I wish I could work in steel but PVC is easier for me.

You should take some camo cloth or gauze bandages at the part of the barrel that you would put your hand on. On the real one you'd do it to prevent yourself from getting burned by the heat. I don't think they ever made any kind of official hand guard for it. You wouldn't need it for this version, but it adds realism.

Not required, each one comes with a completely free asbestos mitten used for any barrel touching activity like a change. As for holding it by the barrel after a shoot, even with with the protection you'd only do it once, and then be down a hand.
