That is kind of off topic. I don't think they're going to be downgrading their guns over this.

Like someone said to me, ''400fps is a limit, not a goal!''

Some guns will reach farther distance at 340 fps than if it was upgraded to 400fps. There is so many variables in the airsoft. For us the limit is set to 400fps down here with sometimes a little tolerance of 10 fps cause upgrading is not an exact science. Sniperswith BA are limited to 500fps but they are not allowed to shoot if the target within 75-100 feets. Snipers AEG broked in semi (SR25, or PSG1, ect...) are limited to 450fps with the same rule. Also we suggest to avoid headshot. Freeze is not option if both players aiming theyre guns at each other, it's clean fight but if a player surprise another then he could freeze.

Freeze?

It's better to yell Mercy or Surrender.

How about "BANG"? Easy to get out during stress, only one syllable. Also does not imply any option on the part of the receiving individual, as it's declaring that you've made a killing shot (without shooting) as oppose to mercy/surrender where it's more like a challenge/response.

I've seen 2 people get their teeth broken. One was a hot AEG slightly over 400 and he was shooting his M4 like it was an m249( yes, he was an assh&?%) the other was around 380 if I remember so it was a legitimate accident.

My first rule is shhoot the freaking vest or legs. It's not good practice for real life situations but this is airsoft, I've gotten mouth and google shots too many times to know that it's just because of plain bad habits people take on.

The 10 feet rule is a farce. Shoot the freaking vest, I've shot people in the back or execution style and never hurt anyone of em juste because I dont shoot vital parts.

There are situations that will probably make you shhoot the person in the face though, like if it's the only target you offer, I dont see whhy I would'nt use it so in the end it's also about being comphrensive taht you must give and take, just like chrismas...except this one leaves a different mark on your heart :P

AIM FOR THE FREAKING VEST!!!

Tell that to the PTW crowd

Mouth and eyes protection and you will be fine.

One rule of thumb, don't open your mouth when being shot at

A well maintained and properly tuned AEG shooting the correct ammo at 360 will shoot just as well as a PTW.

We can't help if PTW's suck at 360 FPS vs 400 FPS

I have no problems with the current Calgary (Alberta?) ruleset for FPS in place.

Outdoor Events:
- 420 FPS for full auto guns
- 480 FPS for bolt action and semi-only guns

Indoor Events:
- 320 FPS for all guns

Sometimes, though...your enemy gives you very little option. They could be under great cover, so all you see is a head, a hand and a gun.

Sure, I'll go for center of mass if I can, but if the opponent gives me no choice, I'm pretty good at headshots too.

But...I find a good and simple rule of thumb is, "If there is a safety issue, take your finger off the trigger."

Well, I didn't upgrade my gun to 400 FPS. It already was. (KWA M4A1).

Projectiles hitting you in the face is never a good thing. If you like the way your face looks and don't want to mess it up - wear protection.

Replacement teeth are like $1000-$1500 give or take?
If shot directly in the mouth, there is still a good chance that your lips will not absorb the force and you will lose your front teeth.

My two cents, seems to me boosting the FPS to 400+ is just asking to make it a harder case to prove for airsoft legitimacy legally as a combat sport and the weapons being definable as causing some extensive bodily harm. I mean look at this pictures above, that's some messed up wounds from a sport. Only time I've seen something else like that is in amateur hockey games at unreffed rink where people weren't wearing proper equipment.
