Mikeman that was my initial thoughts too. But as I got to work on it I found it impossible to fit 2 gearboxes in and make them shoot out of the barrel and still be able to maintain the dimensions and features I wanted.

But as an aside I do have plans for a 8mm gas version.

btw real m2 has a slow rate of fire anyhow. I am already probably shooting two or 3 times faster then it.

But it is airsoft and in real life the .50 would kick some ass while in airsoft 6mm is 6mm is 6mm.

Nice work BM! Using basic tools requires a lot of patience. I think you could worry your way out of prison if you had an unlimited supply of plastic spoons.

I bought an electropneumatic pball gun a few years ago with the intention of a very noisy airsoft project. The gun has changable fire modes: semi, 3rnd burst, 6rnd burst, f/a. Stripped down, the important stuff is pretty small: about 2.5" tall, 8" long, 1.25" wide. The gas pressure applied to the pneumatics operating system and the breech are separately regulated so it's possible to modulate muzzle velocity without affecting the recoil cycle (i.e. it can be downtuned to safe muzzle fps without sacrificing recoil perf'). ROF is electronically controlled and is quite easy to adjust (turn a pot').

At FA, this thing is a loud monster.

I think you could hide a decent sized CO2 bottle in a belt bag or even within your rec'r itself. The strong pneumatics could also cycle a bolt plate for more metal clinking fun.

Pretty cheap too at $300 (used) including regulator on a Canadian pball forum. If I had the time, I'd put it into a MG, but I'm not sure if I'd ever get around to it.

Nope its electric feed. servo on m16 highcap. Gravity won't keep up. I did mess around with gravity feed for fun but its not reliable that way.

I will take some pics of the internal stuff sometime soon.

The link is to a 1919 not a m2. Though they have a semi version also it is sold out and if it wasn't sold out it costs 10g.

I think its a bit silly to say wouldn't you want a real one. Ofcourse we are airsofters but thats why we play airsoft to use guns to shoot our buddies we could never get in real life like a Full Auto m2. Semi would be cool too but sheesh not worth it in my opinion.

I had a chance to try this, and it actually shoots better than most people's aegs: fast, hard, and straight. Truly awesome, and as I said at the time- the most impressive thing I've ever seen built in the name of airsoft.
