Oh you just had to one up me by getting the same gun but with a silvery slide didn't you. Also, All the con's to this gun you listed don't exist on mine, though you should add in the con list that the WE mags aren't the greatest and leak/feed lips break.

Good points there, Sepulcrum. However, I can only add to the cons the experience with mine in particular. So far, I've shot about 20 mags out of it, and the mag is holding up well. Although I know from past experience with my Luger mag that they're not well built.

So you got the same one with the grooved slide and the extended, full-length frame?At worse, if you like the silver slide, you can always polish the paint off the side of your slide. I'm sure that's all they did with this model.

I remember leaky Luger mags before WE. The KJW mags were terrible for that. I know guys who still have some of the early Hicapa releases (from spring of 2005) and their mags are still going strong.

I think I owned the very first WE in Canada, before WE was selling them to the public, and you could only get them through Airsoft Elite. I don't recall their mags really having leak issues, there were alot more Marui mags that suffered this (Desert Eagle, MK23 SOCOM anyone?).

I just sold an AE-branded WE that wouldn't work well with a Marui mag.

Besides being constructed differently, the valve ports on the WE 1911 mags are slightly smaller diameter than the ones on the stock TM 1911 mags.

However the air sealing on the WE 1911's piston head is awful (think stock KWC Mini Uzi) and I see no reason why the quality would be any better on their Hi-Capa. There's a lot of gas being wasted there and I'd swap it out for an upgraded piston head, or at the very least do a teflon tape job on it.

And do use the TM mags (hi-capa) since they're compatible.

The more I use this gun, the more I like it. I have the stock nozzle, piston lid and hopup from my TM P226, and if I remember correctly, they're the same for this gun (at least the nozzle and hopup rubber). I'll try installing them to see how they work out and if it vents as much gas. That may also get me a much better velocity out of it, or at least better consistency.

Nope, TM P226 has a different loading nozzle design, partly reflecting the fact that the TM P226's nozzle retraction spring is side-mounted.

Piston lid is similarly dimensioned, though I wouldn't put a stock TM suction-cup lid in anything. They're more fragile than the WE ring-plate lid design and mounted only by friction. Bad ideas all around.

As for the hopup, the sleeve's the same, so's apparently the dial and depressing arm, but the chamber itself is very different.

and to make the polish look better on the end of the outer barrel, you could always sand it down a bit. Thats what I have done to other guns. If you try this, I prefer a belt sander, or by hand if you really want to but belt sander is quicker.

I stand corrected on the piston and nozzle. I was sure I had seen somewhere that they were the same, but some quick research shows me that they're indeed different. Oh well. I'll just have to order a Guarder nozzle and a better piston and see what that does. Any recommendations on what would be the best piston to install?

I'll just install the TM hopup rubber once I receive my tightbore.

Probably SD POM. I've heard people complaining about Guarder. I've never heard anyone complaing about SD POM.

I had this gun, but when I use Tokyo Marui Mag brand with the gun, I get -10 FPS compare to the stock one. This gun is a beast and it really kicks hard.
