My fatigues are not in the pictures, but I do have some they are 3rd pattern jungle fatigues with 23rd Infantry unit patch Staff Sargent stripes. I'm also currently building my lightweight ruck piece by piece, I have more gear than what I am posting up I also have a shelter half pup tent, more ammo containers, and I'm waiting on getting an M79. The M14 comes in this week then i can start my U.S Army sniper loadout. To answer the possible questions about the ak, I am the only one in my group using Vietnam war equipment and the ak is for my vc loaner kit. Yes I make my friends dress up as a VC then I shoot them so what. I would like to get some feedback on my equipment if its possible.

Thanks Mat, slowly piecing it all together. Hopefully it's worthy enough to compete in the Vietnam impression competition at Tac14. Anyone else going to be entering?

Just picked up my kit from an amazing friend who's just patiently waiting for my paychecks to catch up with me.

It's a mix of 56 and 67. Only thing postwar is the 2QT water bottle, flashlight, and the trousers but I'm not overly concerned.

The M16A3 with the M203 is, uh, well it's all I have and it's close for now. I'll need to pick up some VN mags to fill out that rather limp bandoleer.

I'll see if I can post some photos of the gear laid out a little later, but for now, I have:

Helmet w/Mitchell pattern cover
Jungle jacket+trouser – war dated jacket/postwar trouser
XL flak vest
Jungle Boots DMS Spike Protection
Long M56 harness
2 x M56 ammo pouches
1 x Canteen/cover/cup
1 x Canteen/cover
2QT Canteen/cover
Flashlight - postwar
Medical Pouch and contents
Buttpack
Etool/cover
Bayonet and Scabbard
Bandoleer
Claymore Bag
Mess kit
Misc Gear (Lucky Strikes, Utensils, Bug Juice, Gum, Deathcard, P38)

I'm pretty excited now. So excited that I didn't do much research into how to wear the gear. Needless to say, there's probably some things wrong. I know the laces on the boots are not correct (Nor long enough), and I'm not sure if I was suppose to blouse the trousers (I doubt it). GySgt would give me shit for my turnout.

As well, I know: Peace Symbol. No means a sign of disrespect to the guys who were there and did what I could not. Just a pose that turned out to be the best shot. More of a reference to FMJ:

Colonel: Whose side are you on, son?

Haha, indeed. I know next to nothing about the gear, but am learning. Coming from a WW2 Reenacting background, it'll take some time to come up to speed.

It's been a few weeks since the last post so I figured I'd post my stuff up. Most of the stuff I've had for a few years used it a couple times many moons ago when I airsofted more regularly. Now that I'm getting back into airsoft thought I would post it. Majority of the kit is genuine, although some is postwar, like the helmet which dates from the early 80s and the compass which is from 1975. The webbing is a combo of M56 and M67 and the only repro kit is the King Arms CIDG rucksack replica. Not pictured are my Jungle boots (I'm not putting boots on my bed ) and M69 flak Jacket.
