"• 14+1 in .45 ACP
• 16+1 in .40 S&W
• 18+1 in 9MM
"

i dont know about you, but to me... 15 rounds of .45 would meake me feel alot more at ease in a hectic combat situation.

it's too cost ineffective. .45 Ball cost almost double that of the 9mm Ball. But, hell.. who wouldn't feel safer? Fucking cost efficiency can lick my man-tits.

Unless things have changed within the past 12 months, the SIG Sauer P226 is NOT the issued pistol within the CF. Although the Browning Hi-Power is still the general issue pistol to 90% of the forces (and I suspect higher, but am not sure of overseas duty), it is actually the SIG Sauer P225 that is being issued to reg force Military Police and Navy personnel. Talk was that once the MP's and Navy were outfitted, the rest of the forces would begin to be switched over.

The reason why the P225 was chosen over the P226 (in my understanding) was so that members with smaller hands could properly grip the pistol.

Not to step on any toes or (should anyone perceive it as) call anyone a liar, but if a link to a DND site stating the P226 is entering service can be provided....? Thing is, I like being proven wrong if it will help anyone attempting to replicate the Canadian Forces in airsoft.

The P226 is not being or gonna be used by the CF ( at least not any time soon). Blinky is right, it is the 225. For those who were saying that the browning is reliable and good in previous posts... I would beg to differ. I think its crap. It jams frequently, not accurate and really awkward to use.

If you ever have to use a pistol in combat situation, you're already fucked and only delaying your death

You,re watching way too much movies...
When you need to use a pistol, it means you have depleted all of your ammo (of your main weapon of course), you only have 30 rounds left, a weapon with poor penetration ability, low accuracy, low effective range etc etc

We're not in BHD damnit! Also, in this htread, no one is talking about highly trained SF, it's about the canadian sidearm of grunts!

i know a friend of mine who is a regular grunt in the army was telling me the other day that they already told him that he will be forced to get the sig. he would rather keep his browning but they were forcing the changeover.

Good point. Just got finished reading Charlie Beckwith's book, he said that they placed a big emphasis on using sidearms during operations.

I'd second that. I think they still use these.

tried and true browning highpower over a sig any day! and to reply to what a previous poster said about reliability, any weapon will jam and fail if not cleaned properly or at all.
