Uh oh... perhaps you didn't notice this but you are fueling everyone's inner compulsive gambler. ASC has combined 2 expensive and addictive elements into the ultimate vice: gambling for airsoft.

I'll get some chairs in a circle, put on some coffee, and register the support group; I'll need to get a head start on this epidemic.

its not an inner barrel
its an outer barrel
which is longer than the stock inner barrel
its quite good too...a little bit of inner barrel wobble since its not EXACTLY like the marui specs, but nothing a little bit o taping wont fix

Ok, got mine, and I was pleasently surprised. It's still pleanty long, with the flash hider the barrel will take a 650mm extended psg1 inner barrel. which means that you need a bore up kit too if you go that route (not required if you stay with the stock inner barrel, but why would you?)

The barrel doesn't weigh too much but it's not flimsy either, I beleive it's strong enough to have a bipod clamped on the end of it. I plan on putting a harris bipod on it if I find one at a decent price.

Because it's a prototype I do need to turn the end down and then put a 14mm-1 die to it so I can put my old flash hider on it (I know it's not 100% authentic, but I care more about how it looks to me not some chair softer). Of course you could put a silencer on instead. It's a work in progress.

This gives us some extra possibilities here. The aug being so easy to take down (the barrel comes off so easily as described above and the mechbox is hidden behind 2 screws) it would be easy to run 2 setups just by having 2 mech boxes, 2 inner barrels, the extended hbar barrel and your original barrel, should take all of 5-10 minutes to swap.

Thanks TankDude

very very sexy. i would buy one if i did not already have an FF Phantom Kit. =)

i would think this HBAR is lighter than anyone with a phantom kit for an extended psg1 inner barrel.

is it nice and light in the front section lisa?

It hasn't changed the weight much at all... I didn't weight it but in my hands the hbar barrel was comparable to the aug standard barrel, now when I toss on the bipod... that will be a different story.
