I just look at the target and bring the red dot onto them and shoot, and compensate if needed. I have the cheapo Tasco Red Dot ($35) on each of my MP5s and love it, super easy and actually looks good on the MP5.
And I always shoot everything (pistols, AEGs and sniper rifles........ even on 9x if I am scoping long ways) with both eyes open, it's nautral for me, and have tried with one eye closed and I find I lose part of my concentraion to trying to keep the non-sighting eye closed. |

Using your Bb's to walk your fire is both Bb and time consuming. When your in the field and you have low caps you don't want to reload too much and less time you take aiming, the more kills under your belt.

i use probably my iron sights half of the time due to having no optics or red dot/reflex sights but i still have to practice some 2 eyes open on scoped weapons (my friends tm vsr10 gspec)

Thanks for the replies everyone. Guess I can't hit anything because I can't shoot worth shit
Question about the Tasco RDS (the $35-$45 CT specail one) -will it take a hit from a BB in the lense without breaking? I have one but I don't want to field it without lense protection if it will break easily.

red dots and Eotech on target .But I just read somewhere that the military used the aimpoint with the redot off and when the target was within the aimpoint they would engage .this was due to soldiers not having enough time in the heat of battle to turn them on !

You are talking about the Tasco Red Dot, right? Just wanting to make sure because that's what mine are called, but not sure if you have something else. |

The cheap tasco ones are great.. I use one on my M14 socom. Just take a few minutes at the start of the day and zero it in. Other than that.. I use my iron sights on everything else. Although I have been guilty of just walking my rounds along with the SAW

Well iron sight is good overall.
Magnified scope is good for outdoor and for spotting. One eye close is definetely not the best but hey... Red dot, reflex, eotech, etc... Is good CQB, outdoor also. ( AEG's short range.) Both eyes open so you still have a good peripheric view. But remember one thing. If you get a scope/RD, Eo, etc... Remember that if you cannot zero it, its not worthed. Make sure you get something decent that will have a windage/elevation that works good.

Could you post a picture with that RD on your MP5's Stalker? I want to see what it looks like, because when my MP5 arrives, I'll be looking into a RDS.
