Is a specific base coat needed or can you base coat with the color of your choice? Also does the krylon paint react in any way with enamel?

No NEED for a special base coat, but you can always do one to make it stay longer... like any paint. The good thing with Krylon paint (according to me) is that it gets the worn and beat up look pretty fast

Absolutely not. Unless you touch it before the paint has dryed and cured (sp?). Some paints might do this, but Krylon definitely does not do that.

krylon man. anything i paint with krylon i let it dry for at least an entire day. when i paint a skateboard it could be sitting for days or months even before i get to go skate it. even then the paint still becomes sticky and gooey where its touched most often.
ive been using the krylon fusion to take care of our orange tips. it either rubs right off on the corners the next day or gets gooey from being touched only a few times. how long should i be waiting for the K fusion to dry and "cure"?

Is his problem.
do VERY light coats, two or three dusting-like coats. If there is still the previous colour showing on the first coat, you're still good. Hanging the part helps with this, and you're also probably painting to close to it. Also get the Krylon primer, get a good pair of light ((VERY light)) coats onto the piece with 1 hour drying periods between each and let that dry for a few hours. This way when it rubs, it will show grey and look more like real world wear and tear. If you STILL have lots of issues, try to find "dull coat" its like a "clear coat" but with out the shiney finish, more satin, which has less sheen than eggshell colours will.

theyre crye production, gen1 or 2 i think. there not big infact theyre almost too small, thats just how they sit i guess. ive never seen anyone else with a set, but the reproduction ones sit about the same. but its those damn cargo pockets, they have nothing to secure them so the poof out. imma sew velcro patches on em to secure em.
i only use the kryon camo paint, dust with tan and dust with od. i tried useing a multicam stencil, but it doesnt look that good and i also wanted to keep it general so i can use it with my woodland, i find the dusting looks bettre, blends better and is more versatile. i would love to paint a gun like madmorbius does, but i dont think i could ever get to that level lol. |

Thanks... the colours came out a bit darker than I had expected, but matched desert Marpat pretty well.

With an RDS on it... You know, for such a cheap gun, it shoots amazingly accurate with a RDS.. Painting my l96 later, but for now..
