i think he meant the shotgun
thats usually a bad thing when the paint crackels like that. i think it makes the paint under it pull away from the painted surface
so then when it all does dry its just gonna flake off in the area

No need to bash the gun. I was quite clear about it being a clearsoft (see what I did there?)

Just wanted some tips on painting. Thanks.

theres your tip. listen to it. i can vouch for that being true because i paint a lot of stuff with spraypaint. just not guns. ive had the crackle happen to me before in the past, its always sucky. it can also happen from using dif types/brands of paints
krylon all the way

All 4 were krylon, though 2 were semi-gloss and 2 were ultra-flat. Could that be it?

i dunno. i paint stuff often but im not like a paint expert. i know krylon gives me the best and cleanest results so thats what i always use. it doesnt take a genious to figure that out. though i do let things dry before i put more paint over top, which is another good quality of krylon. it sets up really quickly. colt was probly right though. youre the only one who knows if you didnt let the paint underneath dry long enough

i do know that when i paint a skateboard i use flat black basecoats and gloss white for the designs most of the time. i never have trouble with flats and glosses

The team's TM M4s turned out a little better. Ah, well. Here's my H&K 416D10 by JG.

I think the colour variation is a little too subtle. Looks a bit like sandstone.

I know! At least "miss" it with the selector set to full auto so you have an excuse! lol

Crappy tire has a camo paint system and the colors are hard to beat, they are fairly cheap as well.

seconded for the Camo Krylon colors. They are now available as a part of the ''Fusion'' system. The spray is a bit harder to control when you're used to the older one and the colors aren't EXACTLY the same (brown anyway), but still very close.
