Anyone else longing for a shift to real cap mags?

An M203 is just 3lbs and it adds a shitload of weight
plus the mag is really long making it awkward to move around

anyway they also make a 60 round mag that's significantly more practical and theres an airsoft version

The first airsoft gun I ever used was a P90, and I've seen several. I'm not knocking the platform itself, but comparatively to most others, I've never been impressed with their range and accuracy.

I've only seen one that had impressive range and accuracy. Shoots like a sewing machine and the owner feeds it with the m4 mag conversion. lol

Was it "as" accurate/reliable as say a properly tuned M4, AK, M14, etc? All the ones I've seen had an accurate range of about eighty feet, and then they went all over the place.

That's because you, and all of swatt in fact, have probably NEVER seen a good gunsmith lol
You can get a stock marui P90 shooting 200ft with nothing more than a $5 hop rubber.
The theory on how the gun works is no different than an M4, only major differences are a slightly better mechbox design and a different hop chamber.
The only thing really holding the P90 back is the hop chamber, but I don't know enough about it to really pass judgement.
Now I don't know if it's just coincidence or demographic fact, but people who have P90's tend to use them mostly indoors, and just never seem to put any REAL effort into upgrading them....
Honestly I can't say I've EVER seen (in person) a P90 with more than $120 of upgrades in it.
Works the same as any other AEG, so I bet I could make one shoot 260ft and get some damn good accuracy out of it.
Heck, if someone wants to ship me their P90 I'll do the labor and testing for free just to prove a point!

Because some people seem to have a more open minded approach to things and a legitimate backing to their arguments.

Having owned a TM P90 (RDS version from 007 Airsoft back when there weren't any better retailers) as my first gun for a number of years and having owned and worked on M4/M16 as well, I can confirm everything Thundercactus said to be true, with little effort, they can be turned into a beast. The majority of people use them for CQB however, so why would they bother upgrading something that's already ideal for their needs?

I had a p90 for a while that i picked up in the classifieds on here, a buddy of mine had it shooting to about225 feet acvurately enough to use outdoors.

only thing I hate about the P90, like really pet peeve cannot stand, is that damn 5 inch trigger pull.
If I had to use one, I'd throw an optic based SW-comp in there and wire a button switch behind the trigger for a 3mm trigger pull. Then hack off all the extra weight, maybe increase the spring pressure a bit.
It may surprise some people, but the biggest difference in trigger response between a PTW, polarstar, and AEG, is the trigger pull.
A P* and a PTW have 1-3mm trigger pulls, but it's surprisingly slow for an AEG to make that 10mm trigger pull.

I shimmed my P* to about a 2mm trigger pull
