If I'll be spending my day/night in the forest, I'll definately want to carry 10 mags (7Tokyo Marui 60 rounds std & 3 G&P Mid-cap 130 rounds) since I'm the type of a guy who doesn't like to use the BB loader untill at the offgame. When I'm in a CQC enviroment, I'll be using no more than 4 mags, preferably Tokyo Marui since I'll be using the semi-automatic instead of full-automatic.
Then there's scenarios. Lets make it a scenario that lasts for 3 days. I'll be carrying 5 mags because this will most likely be a green-side operation (= Contact unlikely) and I'll carry BB bags and a BB loader in my harness. Extra mags might be attached to the side of my backpack aswell on the PALS loops for teammates to grab onto. |

Soon I'll be able to squeeze 22 mags on me. All are going to be midcaps lol.
I'd never carry that many, just too cumbersome. 12 is what I can fit on my vest nice and comfy and that'll be all.

our games have no ammo limit.
i carry 6 X 300 rounds M4 mags then of coz i wont shoot 1800 rounds every game they are more for tactical reloading then "spraying around" it is like, now you have shot 140 out of 300 from a mag, u proceed to another point, and you expect that later u will bump into heavy contact, u pull out the mag that still have 160 rounds, and put in one with 300 rounds, so that if heavy contact really happens, you have all the 300 rounds to use, not 160, before you run dry on ammo and have to spent time (and take risk) to change mag. it usually ends up that after each game, 2 out of the 6 mags are still full, 1 is virtually empty, and all the others are half full. if you want to do tactical reloads, ynot use midcaps and actually reload when your mags are actually empty? better than tickling your mags from behind cover

12 x Low - Midcaps when im playing in open fields (dense bush, usually 6) and when i run out of those... If i cant load my mags and run out, it means im cut off from my resupply and im pretty much screwed. Thats when i pull out 2x 2800 Round Drums so i can still effectively give a .25 middle finger to whoever charges my position thinking that im out of ammo Pistols, i tend to run 3 mags each 6 lows or mids for most of my other ARs and SMGs

hmm....actually, i do the tactical reload before i proceed to the next cover, if i expect that there will be heavy contact after i have arrived at the next cover, so that if there are really heavy contact in the next cover, i have 300 rounds to begin with, not the 160 leave in the original mag....bear with my poor english.....it is my second language

here in my city, there is usually no ammo limits, and M249/M60/Ak47 with ammo drum fill up with 3000 to 4000 rounds are not unusual. but we do also have the "pick your shot" honor rule.... spraying around will attract criticism and poor comments, and experience told us that liberal spraying very often will end up with accidents and hand fighting.... another reason why we bring loads of ammo is that we play in forrest and mild jungle...it takes lots of round to penetrate those vegetation (long grass and shrubs) which are used as cover.... |

Look like a lots of people tend like to use hi-cap magazines. I can't stand for the noise that make from them, that's why I never use except the first game, I went with my first gun which only with 1 hi-cap.
M4A1== 10 mid-cap P90== 8 low-cap MK23==- 3 mags. That all I carry around. KND

For my M16 and 416 I carry (go through them in this order while playing):
5 realcap (30) 3 VN mids (85) 4 midcap (100) and 1 emergency 300 rnd hicap (only for skirmishes though) Planning on picking up 4 more 100rnd mid caps. For when I game my AK I use, in this order: 3 70 locaps 2 400(or 500 not sure) Hicaps Gonna pick up a couple 100 rnd mids for the ak as I hate Hicaps. I use the Ak as more of a support weapon and need lots of amo for it in games. (rpk in progress) |
