So it really sounds like the best place to shop for a PTW is in the classifieds right here. What looks like some smoking deals right now.

If my TM deal falls through I may be tempted again.

Well over the last year I've heard some pretty weird shit, i thought i've heard them all being in this hobby for so long but lately I've heard some pretty funny shit that will make you ask what kind of fine crack these guys been smoking.

here is some example:

- owner of a new 2012 Evolution bitching on why should he pay $200 for a new motor to replace his DOA Systema motor and why I can't just give him the FCC motor as a warranty.......I'm not a Systema dealer is one clue
- Email from some guy in Oklahoma wanting to know if FCC Hop can give him a range advantage of 800ft like some of the other guys running PTW........I'm like WTF???? 800ft???
- another one is someguy wanting to claim warranty for his electronics after he fried them sumerging his CTW using FCC electronics, he claimed that he read it on an airsoft forum that say FCC is waterproof........Proofed to him that the article clearly state even though the boards are moisture proof (light rain foggy, humid, wet) not recommended to be submerged
- Some guy bitching that the retailer (no longer in business) say that the PTW don't need maintainance (the gun was not maintained for 6 years), the gearbox grease was so dry that it solidify, the only reason he went to get this fix was because his cylinder seized, his orings crumbled like dust because it was so dry and there was enough scoring in the cylinder from foreign particles that I was surprised this gun actually could fire.
- Another Idiot that belief cleaning his PTW includes spraying liquid silicone spray everywhere.

Now I know why you got out of gun doc PTW Brad, some of the shit I've heard and seen in the last year make me wonder WTF are these guys smoking?.

So that we are still on topic the new HOP up design for FCC, no more hop key to lose

I have been using an Orga barrel with MDD hopup for a few months now. I can not say I love it, it took some work to replace the adjuster and get it so-so. Factory it was unusable, the adjuster was glued in place.

Currently range is good, out to 275 feet at 385 fps, but the ballistic window is about 6 feet. It hasn't improved really in the last few thousand rounds. I have some ideas regarding that. If FCC copied MDD, they will suffer similar results. I should try that Orga on a traditional chamber.

The MDD have some issues on its own mine broke after install. the new FCC Hop is a collaboration with Orga its similar to MDD but still quite different, enough to warrant it's own trademark patent. Orga barrels are awesome i have one of their shorty barrels on my TW5 its freakin lasers, wait till u see the new barrels.

A better rifle absolutely makes you a better shooter
I'd like to see a world class sniper try to kill a man 2km away with an SVD that has a bent barrel lol

The gun doesn't make you more skillful, but it does make it easier to hit your target!

A good shooter with a good gun will hit more often. A bad shooter with a good gun will still miss.

This!

I've seen it myself several times.

Knowing your gun can increase accuracy as well, especially in airsoft. Each gun has it's own quirks and feel, but once you're used to shooting it, your general skill improves. So technically a mediocre shooter with a bad gun, will eventually maximize the guns effectiveness by way of understanding its behavior; this is truer in aorsoft in my opinion.

With all that said though, there is 'never' a time where it isn't superior to have a the best possible tool(s) for a job.
