I stripped it down and am now having problems removing the mechbox. Being very difficult and annoying. It just doesn't want to slide out. The selector switch is holding it there and I don't see how it would come out at all.
On another note. My flash hider looks like a monkey machined it. Uneven passes and the holes don't line up. I compared it to a friends ICS a few weeks ago, he has the first batch while I have the newest and we were noting differences. The rear site was different and my bird cage was fubar. And I found a way to make the gun fit in a very very small briefcase. |

I think the selector comes off like a TM one. Try popping off the cap at the base of it, and their should be a screw. That will let you slide it off. No hacksaws involved I hope

Had defective gears in the stock gun, guess lemons, and the Star lo-caps are not feeding unless i pull them back to engage the catch in the magazine holding down bb's.
Other than above very happy with the gun! |

In regards to the selector switch...yes...remove the covering cap on the side and there will be a screw there.
One addition to note is that the stabalizing tabs on the stock break off making the stock wobble a bit. Stock still seems fairly strong but the wobble will loosen the conection screws.

i bought this mount, still have to receive it from Russia
do yuo think it will fit on the ICS side rail? i have the last upgraded version. "BP-02 in new and very exciting! Made for the AK rifle, BP-02 is a "low mount' design which will place your optic as low as possible to the receiver cover of your Kalashnikov. It is also provided in a handsome non-reflective black hammer finish! This model also uses the fully adjustable and extremely popular "V" base which is designed for use on AK rifles with standard military style stocks. It is guaranteed to fit all variants of AK including Romanian, Bulgarian, Russian AK-100 and Saiga, Vepr, MPK/MTK-01 type side rails, and more. NOTE: Heavy duty rings are now available." I don't see why it wouldn't. I shipped a 4x24 POSP scope from Belarus and it came without a hitch.

Did you have to shim your rail to get it to fit, or did it require no modifications?

no modifications at all!! the ics rail is perfect.

Yeah, mine won't tighten enough to clamp well. I got an earlier production run I think. A simple piece of sheet metal glued to the rail did the trick though.

ROFL! sorry Vivisector, but I don't suppose you are aware that there is an adjustment system on the siderail of your scope itself for just that purpose? Check the manual that came with your scope, assuming it's a real steel russian scope.

Not that I see. The scope is a 4x24 POSP. The siderail is a solid block of milled metal with only the tension clip for adjustment. Nothing else as far as I can see. My manual came in Russian, but the other manuals i've found online describe nothing what you are talking about.
EDIT: Yeah the method we described to each other in PM is the same one on Tantal's site. Still can't clamp down enough
