Anyone have spare wood/plum handguards for an AK74? Looking to snatch some... Got a new project on the way for the winter.

After amassing a veritable mountain/fleet of M4s, MP5s, G36s, etc, I decided it was time for something different, and the AK stands out as something I haven't really jumped into yet. Also I've been generally unhappy with most of the version 3 gearbox setups I have, they're always inadequate in some way or other (usually battery space, since I'm looking to use more and more powerful/larger batteries these days).

Anyway, I'm sure a lot of you guys will gag at the following sight but hey -- I'm pretty malleable and will probably eventually be convinced to get a more "real" AK, so in the meantime, here's my "gateway drug" AK, ready to become a project gun:

I just got that the other day, but mine isn't feeding unless I pull the mag towards myself, I'm pretty sure it is just the mag but I'm not a export on the matter. Any thoughts towards this matter?
Thank you for your time.

Not sure if it works for AK's but when you have this problem with M4 systems, a piece of velcro on the mag or inside the magwell usually fixes the problem.

I will admit, it isn't the most beautiful AK in the world but it's works for what it is..... except the mag..... just saying it is a JG Hybrid AK-47 "thing" :P

I shimmed the mags with small layers of plastic (hot tub chemical test strips cut down) underneath the actual mag lip on the rear of the mag (see Pic). I added a couple on millimeters of material with crazy glue and trial fit each mag. This forces the mag up higher and deeper into the mag well when the magazine release catch comes forward. This ensures the hopup is fully inserted into the mag and removes mag wobble. You can shave the plastic to give it a slight ramp and now you have mags that feed140 rounds without a hitch.

Maybe something classy like a PPSH-41.

Nice SVDS!

Just going to get worse for you when the A&K PKM lands in Country.

Sadly that one on the left is just one of those Echo1 ("shudders") CSR rifles. Which are actually quite nice.

I'll probably trade it even though it probably shoots far nicer then the Realsword(did quite a bit of work on it).

I want to get either a AKMS,Ak-74MN or AK-104/105 next.

I completely forgot about how the PKM will stack up with my collection...

I think i'm going to need to get a weapons crate.
