My personal favorite for that length is the Tanio Koba Twist barrels

Not really... just the slide catch notch will wear down, if anything. The 5.1's also have a tendency to crack near the rear sight as well, but I've generally seen this with guns that have thousands of rounds put through it. Think of it this way, it will be an excuse to upgrade to a metal slide at that time.

But besides that, the Tokyo Marui 1911 & Hi-Capa GBB's are very solid, despite having plastic uppers. Again, the fastest wearing part will be the slide catch notch, just like any other GBB. If you take care of it, you can preserve the life of that notch.

Hi ILLusion, hi-capa guru!

Big time lurker in this thread and I finally am making the step towards the TM hi-capa. I am using a upgraded TM Glock17 for IPSC, which is still in it's first stages here in Belgium, but I want a gun for Open class aswell.

I do have a few questions and I do hope you can share your wisdom with me.

First of all, a friend of mine has a TM hicapa 4.3 for sale very cheap (because of some holes in the frame for a sight mount). I can use a 4.3 as a donor gun, correct?

This is my to get list:

ProG4 Limcat conversion kit http://www.prog4.com/db/product-show.asp?refno=AR1760
ProG4 sight mount http://www.prog4.com/db/product-show.asp?refno=AR1767
ProG4 hammer http://www.prog4.com/db/product-show.asp?refno=AR1512
ProG4 magwell http://www.prog4.com/db/product-show.asp?refno=AR1809
ProG4 trigger http://www.prog4.com/db/product-show.asp?refno=AR1685 OR a AS trigger, any difference?
ProG4 BBU http://www.prog4.com/db/product-show.asp?refno=AR1307
AS light sear spring http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...Series_GBB.htm
Nine Ball piston head http://redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/ai...26_Advance.htm
Nine Ball mag lips http://redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/ai...G_226_2pcs.htm
AS 140% recoil & hammer spring http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...Combo_140_.htm
Nine Ball HU bucking http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...10_Handgun.htm
PDI 6.05 7" dual barrel http://redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/ai...rui_Hi_cap.htm Are these actually any good?
Shooters Design grip http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/shooters-...-5-1-grey.html

I am aware I am missing parts like mag catch etc but the idea is to gradually upgrade this gun. I will have to get used to the C-more first

Any remarks or anything else you would do differently?
Your input is GREATLY appreciated!
Many thanks from Belgium, the land of chocolates and lazy politicians!

Yes, add an enhanced loading nozzle. The stock one will crack under the pressure of your setup.

Beyond that, each situation is different, with different requirements. Thus, I couldn't say your upgrade path should be on par with mine, but you have all the basic required parts covered. You just need the loading nozzle to go with where you're going. Everything else is gravy. If the part selection suits your requirements, then go for it.

Thank you so much!

This one any good: http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...bat_HiCapa.htm ?

Should I be using the AS piston head that comes with it or the Dyna piston head instead?

Could you enlighten what you mean with the different requirements? I am going (or trying to) for a light-recoil, accurate, consistent racegun.

I personally prefer the Nine Ball Dyna

Read: http://airsoftcanada.com/showpost.ph...74&postcount=3

In other words, there are some performance characteristics that lead one way over another. For example, hop up rubbers that provide the most power output may not also provide the most consistent/accurate shot.

Inner barrels that provide the most power and range may also not provide the most accurate shot.

Setups that give the most feeling of blowback power and gun weight will also not provide the fastest and most efficient setups.

Etc. It depends on what type of build you're going for, which I can't answer for you. Just read that post I linked.

Anyone know if RS tritium sights can be modified to fit airsoft 1911s? And if so, what kind of modifications would I need?
I've got a TM MEU with a Nova Kimber kit and wanted to see if I could fit RS Kimber sights.

Also, I have two TM MEU magazines that come with the little black bumper on the bottom. Can the bumper be removed? I'm looking to get the look of the 1911A1 magazines.
If the bumper can't be removed, anyone wants to do a straight trade? 1911A1 (double stack) mags for MEU mags?

Thanks for the link. Towards the end he takes apart the bumper piece and it seems like the magazine can't/shouldn't be used without it on.
So, anyone want to trade?

Also, would appreciate some input on the sights.

Real steel 1911 sights will not fit. The dovetail mount and all internal componentry is significantly different from airsoft, to the extent of preventing such an addition.

Not possible, without a clean look. I would recommend selling yours, and buying the 1911 style mags. It's easier to do that than to find someone looking to do a straight trade.

Hello,

I have a problem concerning a hicapa 5.1 I own.

It keeps breaking loading nozzles. I have put two shooters design nozzles in there and each time they keep cracking down the middle.

The gun has a pdi(?) piston head, SD kimber slide, and high flow valves in the mag, and AIP short stroke kit.

Any thoughts?

Thank you,

Jordan

EDIT: Solved. Hurr de durrr guy I bought it from installed the piston head backwards. Thus when the nozzle would return it would smack into the piston head.

But for future reference what would cause a problem like that to happen?

Sounds like a reversed piston head would cause that to happen! LOL

I have a strike warrior which uses a detonics BBH, I'll try and get some pics tonight.

However, I don't think there is much difference between the two. Have you already tried to fit the standard 1911/2011 BBH in the detonics slide? From what I recall they are similar. It even has the threaded hole on the top of the BBH for the screw in the hicapa sights.

SD POM in CIRCLE or OVAL??

Hi All,

I have recently broke my stock nozzle. And I have purchased SD POM nozzle set. When I got my nozzle in hand I have check carefully and notice the thing is not even in proper circle. I am not sure if I am having a defective nozzle or it is normal that they came in oval. I am comparing it with the stock nozzle, really got no idea how it can provide a good seal.

I have purchased it since it was highly rated and recommended in the thread. Please let me know if this is normal or I am being too paranoid.

Thank you and highly appreciated for the help.
