9.6V Stock Gun

I have a question for you AK users. I have a Dboys AKS 74, my question is, Can I run a 9.6V battery in this gun, Can you explain the pros and cons of this, I mean what can happen after some use of a 9.6V in a stock gun, mine shoots 370fps unupgraded, Thank you.

sure. ROF goes up. parts will wear a little bit faster but you should be fine.

Yes, you can run that 9.6 V with Dboy stock gun. I run mine for alost 10 000 rds, open it up and check the internal, it's stil fine. Their latest AK series especially AKS-74 U are pretty good build.

The Pro is you will have more ROF that 8.4 and more trigger respond.

The Cons is your gears won't like you so much but I rarely heard people damage their gears or piston with 9.6 V except 11.1 V Lipo.

bushing failure, stripped gears/ piston, etc... pretty much anything can happen but those are the common issues.

Just watch your full auto bursts. if you tend to unload full mags on one trigger pull, nothing in the mechbox will like you. not saying you can't do that, just not all the time. keep to shorter bursts or fewer long bursts and you'll be fine.

It's not often that I unload a full mag, but on occasion it's needed especially when someone isn't calling their hits.

I've ran a 9.6v 2000mah stick no problem (you've seen me do it Alexei) in a Dboys AKS-74. Metal bushings are a good idea, as is a better spring guide, but hell, I have yet to see broken plastic bushings in my life time.

The best choice is the G&P 2200mah 9.6v stick for ya, but they're a pain in the ass to get. Otherwise, go with an Intellect 1600mah one.
