First Airsoft Gun: AfterMath Broxa or Kraken?

Hello all, thanks for taking the time to read my post,
I currently play Airsoft with my friends in one if theirs backyard forest, I am playing with a junky Walmart shotgun and a C02 pistol I got from Buyairsoft.ca (which was hard enough to get, I had to send the gun back twice), my friend has the AfterMath Kraken, and it seems like a very good gun for the 230$ he spend on it (I see he bought it for alot more then other sites sell it), and I was thinking I would mabye buy the AfterMath Broxa, so I can compete with him and not just get owned. After doing some searching around, I found some reviews on both gun and found some pros and cons to them both and was hoping I could get some advise from Airsoft Canada people.

Guns:

AfterMath Broxa: 200$, http://velocityarms.ca/index.php?mai...products_id=93

AfterMath Kraken: 180$, http://velocityarms.ca/index.php?mai...products_id=94

I was going to be buying from the VelocityArms.ca because I live in Orangeville, Ontario, and I heard their store was in Toronto.

I was more leaning towards the Broxa because my friend already had the Kraken, and I was wanting to get a different gun them him, but I dont mind if the Kraken is alot better then the Broxa, but I had also heard the the Broxa has a awful magazine the comes with it out of the box and that it jams easily or can only fire 10 rounds before you have to wind it again.

If anyone has had any experience with either or both of the guns and has a good opinion on which one would be better for a beginner Airsofter who only plays in a forest, your help is appreciated.

I had a few Krakens before and they are solid guns! great for starting out and will keep u happy.

Broxas, from what I hear are also pretty good stock. I am getting one as my backup.

kraken hands down.

Broxa's hopup is the worst ive seen. even in comparison with lycoan or other clones. the groupings are horrible in full auto. krakens only issue is its mag, you may want to get lowcaps to avoid constant winding.

Get whichever one you want but if you get them from that site you are going to get ripped off. I know of a site that sells the kraken for $120 dollars. So if you are getting the Kraken you are going to get ripped off.

The Kraken is probably the better of the two. That being said, it will most likely still need some work to function really well.

I have both - needless to say, I sold my Broxa... not currently planning on parting with my Kraken. They both crono the same (even tho the Brox is listed as shooting at 400FPS, it actually shoots 350ish).
The Kraken is just fantastic to use and fire, even stock. I've put 10's of 1000's of rounds thru her thus far with no complaints.
Cheers!

cabelas canada, on backorder though. get a 280fps spring, metal bushings, re-shim and re-lube, spray black with krylon, and it will last a llloooonnnnggggg time. the hop-up does its job perfectly fine.

An Orangevillian eh? I live just up the road from you, in shelburne. If your able to afford it, i'd recommend getting age verified, and then start browsing the classifieds. I've seen countless amazing deals on there, i've seen some good stuff going for only a bit more than a Kraken. However, if that's what your set on, or can afford, go with the kraken, hands down. I've heard so many amazing things about them, considering their cost, and a lot of people here on the site use them. Just get a can of flat black krylon spray paint, a little painting patience, and you can have a very effective gun right out of the box. And while it may seem better to get a different gun than your friend, if you guys get the same, you can swap or share parts (such as spare mags) without too much fuss.

Kracken

I have a kracken, I love it! There are lots of metal bodys up for sale on the classifieds for AK's I got an eliment body for mine ($90). I've put 40000-50000BB's through it. No mods and it shoots 396-402 FPS. Don't ask me how I don't care it kicks ass. I bought mine because a friend had one, glad I did!

Wrong wrong wrong... What you do is get a hop-up system, an inner barrel, a nozzle, and a hi-cap magazine, bite on the nozzle, push forward, blow air, pull back, and repeat. 120fps guarenteed. (well atleast for me)

I have a broxa and have had no problems with the gun or mags. I find it works great is very reliable and the groupings in semi and full are quite similar but the gun doesn't even come close to the performance of my ICS MP5 let alone my TM M4. My friend also has one purchased a few days later and it sucks compared to mine it jams, has the mag feeding problem and after about 1000 rounds or so it starts crunching and has feeding problems. They might be hit or miss with quality out of the box. A lot of guys I game with field kraken's and they love them too but some of them are also crap compared to others. I think your best bet is to get AV and find a good deal on a better gun
