Aimpoint 3X Magnifier (Replica - Huang)
This weekend I got to put some rounds down range, got a chance to test out a new prospect carry load for my XD (Federal HST), and also got a chance to test out the China-Com replica 3X Magnifier on my AR. Yes I know I should of bought the real-deal, but $600 for a damn monocular, no thanks. Mount had no issue, clear, crisp, image, helped tremendously trying to re-zero the EOTech at 100 yards, and with a 62 grain opposed to 55 grain round. My only compliant is that the eye-relief sucks, and I might get a swing to side mount opposed to the twist off that I am using now.
Finally, a tip for any red-dot/HWS user, if your zeroing in your optic, use the lowest brightness setting.

Agreed. The 3X magnifier that Huang carries are nice (and an affordable compromise), but the eye relief is unforgiving and takes some time to get use to (handled one this weekend past).
BTW, that AR is getting lots of circulation bro.....and what a SWEET piece. SHA DO

The role I was trying to fit the weapon in was close quarters, not long range. Ideally I would run the AR with a 10.5 upper, but I would have to register the gun as a SBR (Short-Barrel Rifle) with the BATF. If I really had money to throw around I would get a full-auto lower, and this way I can place whatever length barrel I wanted on my rifle. *References above apply to US federal gun laws. Though the rifle above is shown with a Harris Bipod w/ ARMS#32 Mount, and a 3X magnifier, that was just accessories to use on my "M4-Gery" for static ranges to help zero in my rifle or engaging targets past 100 yards with the EOTech. This was the exact reason why I was debating on whether I really wanted a flip to slide mount. I don't plan on engaging multiple BGs(Badguys), moreover, BGs at 100 yards. *Knock on wood If I did have to use the rifle for defense, it would be at home, close quarters, at ranges at most 20 yards or so. Negating the need to have a 3X magnifier with quick mounting abilities.
