Dboys C-mag and JG feeding issue

Calling all tech heads and Gun Gurus,

Just wondering if anyone has tried the following combo of Dboys M4 style C-mag with JG before? I recently acquired a Dboys Cmag and it won't properly fit the mag well of my JG 416. Its not the mag well itself because i can use my other mags with no problem but, the issue comes up when i try to use the C-mag. The problem that i'm experiencing is that first, the mag catch wont engage the mag all the way, and hence wont lock. Second, It wont fire (probably due to the mag catch not catching).

I've run out of ideas and all the help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advanced,
Twisted

Ive heard of c-mags not working with JG 416 and requiring mods to work! A guy in Kelowna had to so maybe he'll pop up and let you know how he did it!

cant you just dremel out the slot or knob on the c-mag a little so that it snaps into place correctly?

Correct. This is very true, standard C-mags that are designed to fit regular armalites will not work with the 416. There is a company out there that does make a 416 style C-mag, I cant rememeber who they are so its up to you to do som eleg work and find out for yourself if you really want a C-mag that badly. Its costly though, the only other alternative is to modify your exisiting C-mag to make it fit.

I got this C-mag for really cheap so its not going to be a major hit on the wallet. I've also seen that the specialized C-mags made for the 416 series are a bit pricey, and modding this will keep me busy for awhile.

...After dremeling the mag catch it still seems to have fitting issues...Im going to try and thin down the lip on the mag to see if that would help

just be careful not to dremel too much or your mag will be loose in the magwell. and im sure once full of bbs it will have some weight to it and may even fall out of the magwell if its loose and wobbly
