Upgrading G36c Noob here
Alright guys. Now that I have an mp5 as my cqb gun, I would like to modify my g36c to get a better fps. What shall I change? and can you tell me an approximate price.

how many fps do you already get with your G36 ?
what battery do you use with it? you could first add a tight bore barrel for a better grouping but it's not mandatory.it's a good upgrade though. I'd guess you need a spring, shims, metal bushings and a spring guide with ball bearing +I'd get a prometheus spring: you'd need a MS100 for indoor (like the AC) and a MS110 for the woods. that's the minimum. 60$, 80 $ roughly? you might also want to get a spare steel sector gear, and for better reliability you might like to throw in a polycarbonate piston and a good cylinder head.

If the MP5 is your CQB AEG, I guess you want to be close to 400fps with the G36c?
Cheapest way: metal bushings, shims, and MS110 spring as Jimski said. It should cost you less than $60. Expensive way: metal bushings, shims, ms100 spring, metal spring guide with bearings, tightbore barrel, metal cylinder head, air seal nozzle (with O ring), better hop-up bucking. The advantage of the expensive way is that you gain your extras fps from the better air seal rather than just the spring. Which in theory, should save you battery life, be easier on the internals, and keep your ROF higher. |

My g36c fires 330 fps for now. I don't mind going for the expensive way (as i was prepare to pay much more than 80$) knowing that I won't be damaging other stuff having a better fps.

I have a JG G36C.
I'm downgrading my stock JG spring to a stock TM. I'm shooting around 430 fps with the mods listed in my signature. Hopefully this will put me in the 350 range. You may want to consider better strength gears if you are looking for 400 plus fps.

9.6V is a mechbox shredder, beware.
Contact Jugglez, get a Modify 100 spring and bearing spring guide, and metal bushings. Should cost you around $50 total, and will put you around 370-380fps. If you want lower, then buy a Modify 90 spring, with hop up will keep you in the 340fps range. I know, those ratings don't make much sense, but I just finished upgrading a TM AK47 with those parts and got those readings. Modify, like Madbull, shoot hot. But the Modify are quite springy/soft, so they will be easy on the battery/motor. |

Let's say I apply those modifications, will there be any possible damage to the mechbox or motor or whatever else?

shimming is really important.
If you change the bushings you will probably have to shim the gears again - Anyway the difficult deal is to have the gears sit tight enough so they don't wobble and get used faster or break, but loose enough so they still spin properly when the mechbox is closed. 9.6V means decent ROF, it also means that when the battery is fully charged, you get a bit more, so there is a risk of shredding the sector gear or the piston. I'm personnaly running a 10.8 v with a stock piston (slowed down by helicoidal gears ) so the risk isn't THAT big. you don't need that much power though , honestly. My advice would be to throw in a steel sector gear and a polycarbonate piston just in case.

Muahaha, I remember when I was upgrading my CA36 (Though technically I only have the mechbox because my car was totaled along with the CA36 that I just got from the post office...)
Shimming can be a pain, so I decided to use Modify's FTK, including their modular gearset (High torque); I never regretted it.
