Hicap modification
Well comrades?
How could I modify my stock Cyma AK74 magazine to turn it into a midcap, or a lowcap? It currently hold.. about 400 (I guess you could classify that as a midcap?) However, I want it to hold much, much less, 100 would be good.

Hmmm, put 100 bb's instead of 400 bb's.

Like was said, fill it with less BB's. Or buy midcaps or lowcaps. |

Put some foam on the inside. Reduce the capacity and sound both at the same time!
Or just buy some lowcaps. |

they should line the mags with a thin layer of rubber like a hop up sleeve is made of.
i bet that would dampen the rattling sound. if you can even take metal mags apart then maybe then you can go to walmart and in the craft section they have sheets of craft foam for real cheap. buy a few of the self adhesive backed ones and cut out panels and apply them to the inside of the mag

The problem is that most Hicaps use the outshell as the side walls for the BB compartment. You won't be able to re-assemble the magasine if you stick anything to the sides.
Best would be to go to a dollar store, and buy these foam-like sheets (to make crafting projects), make a "box" that fits in the space of the BB compartment, then re-assemble. That will remove ratling and reduce capacity at the same time. And since there is nothing glued or sticked, you can revert it anytime. |

someone else needs to try those adhesive foam sheets. i think they could be used for a lot of things in airsoft. ive stuck two together and made insoles for my ***** and boots even and theyre so comfy then. on my guns ive made comfy cheekrests and on one gun i put some on the end of the stock to provide some cushioning. really all it takes its cut the shape out, peel backing off and stick it on like a sticker
p.s. why cant i say s-h-o-e-s??

correct me if i'm wrong but if you load like a handfull of bb's into your highcap and wind it, it should load most, if not all, of them with no rattling. experiment with how many it'll load. you might end up with a realcap with highcap capabilities.

Except it won't feed them. It needs a bunch extra to push the ones already in the feed tube up.
