As you may already know, Canada is very anti-gun. The hoops you have to jump through to get a permit to carry, and then to maintain that permit, make such a commitment very time consuming and, basically, a pain in the butt. Other parts of my life had already overtaken any interest in shooting back then. And, I had to move on. The act of trying to make living here took precidence over strickly entertainment issues. Plus, I got too involved in club politics at that time, and that would turn most people's stomachs. I belonged to 3 clubs at one point.

Fast forward a quarter century later. Airsoft has gotten to the point that the feel of shooting airsoft guns brings me just as much satisfaction, if not more, than real steel ever had. I can sit back at home and fire away to my heart's content without having to put up with any BS from anyone for anything. The skills involved in shooting airsoft and real steel are identical. The satisfaction is the same. I don't need politics to get in the way of my day's entertainment.

Airsoft doesn't kill anyone and you can shoot people with it.

Besides, my girlfriend doesn't like real steel so since I don't have any no more, it means more sex for me.

And on topic: I really love those pics. Makes that simple 1911 looks awesome. I wish I had better skills at taking closeup pictures of objects.
Cool

There's a tutorial at the beginning of this section that would help you get started. I just have a lifetime of photo skills. That helps.

Thanks for the info. I'm very good with photography and used to develop my films myself but I specialize in architecture and urban life. The camera I usually use is a Rebel XT and I'm having a hard time identifying all of those digital functions...

LOL I'm sure they're beautiful! It would just cost me way too much to do the same thing. It's like buying the same gun 3 times over. LOL

That's good. In a way, I am similair. Used to do my own films, prints, etc. in my own darkroom as a student. Fast forward to 2000 and I changed over to all digital. Followed every new digital camera since then. The XT is a great camera. I had one until last year. Only sold it because I like the small form factor of the G9 better. Ironically, my very first digital camera was the G1.

Check out some of my work:
