Systema or aftermarket AEP mechboxes? MP7?

i recently upgraded my MP7 with nine ball spring, ball bearing spring guide, nine ball metal bushings and 6.03 tight bore barrel and the front of my gearbox cracked and half has broken off completely. I'm wondering if anyone knows where i can buy another mechbox for the MP7 or if there is a reinforced aftermarket mechbox available yet, or if it is even likely that they will be produced?
thanks for any help

Never saw an aftermarket mechbox for AEPs... just to clarify, was it a TM MP7 or one of the clones? Cuz if the mechbox will break from the upgraded spring, it may be a warning for others.

Anyway, for a replacement... not 100% sure it's identical (nor how good it actually is), but you could look into the clearsoft clone MP7s which are supposed to be Marui compatible (buyairsoft.ca has em for like $175 ). You'll get an extra battery and mag in the process, which might help make the replacement a bit less pricey.

unfortunately it was the make and model that buyairsoft.ca carry and maybe...hopefully i just got a faulty one, and i can get another, but i'd rather know i'm getting some quality rather than go through another...

except i ordered mine directly from umarexusa.com when the dollar was really strong, only cost me 126 cdn shipped to my door... exact same brand, make model as what they carry. tactical force is the lineup

If it was a clearsoft it wouldnt have been a problem to bring through.
Or even not, not all customs officers interpret the rules the same way and it could have made it through, its not like its a huge irregular thing.

If your looking for a mechbox replacement, it maybe possible for you to contact a retailer and purchase another mp7 and pay the full price, but only ask them to ship you the mechbox. Its a shot in the dark and kind of costly, but I think I saw that Redwolf had a wells mp7 for like 70 dollars or something, if you ask nicely they make just send you the mechbox only.
Never know. Aside from that, you could always have someone machine you another one, accept thats costly, timley and you have to find someone who knows what their doing, and for the amount of work you could just buy a whole new gun.

yea i was thinking of machining, as i have access to metal working, CNC etc but i figure it would be costly and i think i maybe just try and buy a new one and reinforce it to sh!t and then modify the gun housing to accept the my beefed up version mechbox.... need to figure out what metals were used, and if i can improve on that. i was thinking if they could ship the mechbox...
it is clearsoft and it did get through customs fine, inspected and all. i did my research.... although i wonder if maybe i just got a defective mechbox...as i it's not too much still to order another direct from the states, but if the new mechbox will suffer the same fate as this one its really not worth it...

decisions, decisions, decisions....and in the meantime no toys to play with =(
any other suggestions ideas guys???

Mechboxs are not designed to last forever, even a reenforced mechbox just takes longer to break.

With the TM mp7, it is such a small mechbox, to many upgrades can cause may risks. Some are fortunate and to this date have no issues, but some, like yourself are not so fortunete.

I think the fact that it was one of the cheaper clones had a lot to do with it cracking, since the authentic TMs seem to be okay with the upgraded springs.

Like it or not, the clones are cheaper for a reason, and you get what you pay for.

Pick up a used TM MP7, probably cheaper than machining a mechbox.

Contact JAFA on the forums and perhaps he can get you a stock TM Mechbox. I upgraded my MP7 to fire 300 fps (don't remember the upgrades, since sold) and didn't have any probs. Upgraded my friend's TM MP7, it's shooting ~280 fps without any issues too so hopefully it's just crappy metal that the clone used rather than a design flaw.
