for those of you who doubted that i am magic: broken v7 mechbox
my m14 and i have a long standing love/hate relationship. it shoots mind blowingly well when it feeds and looks and handles in a way that makes me forget about all other guns. only problem is that the bitch hates me. it keeps pulling crazy apparantly unsolvable stunts on me that would go away when someone else looks at it or behaves in unpleasant ways without any physical issues which go away after it's been disassembled then reassembled only to return during a crucial moment at the next skirmish. needless to say it's been complicated and today it got even more complicated. ladies and gentlemen, i bring you today: broken v7 mechbox!
now i dont know how or when this happened, nor have i heard of this problem before, nor am i looking for any help...merely documenting. just this morning i was browsing redwolf and came across an aftermarket g&p 7mm bearing mechbox and thought to myself "what kind of an idiot would buy that?" turns out it's me . if it's terrible i'll post about it here. god help them if it's terrible, i miss my terrible harpy succubus of an m14.

wow nice cut.
I'm wondering what the other side looks like. From the pictures it looks like the crack occurred on the thin walls of the upper side first, then it quickly slammed the bottom away. But anyway, there is no such thing as un-crackable marui box. |

the other side is just fine. the top is a little beefier.

Man that is terrible. LOL with my luck with my M14, I thought I would have been the first to break a mechbox. Well hopefully the G&P will be good, you could always contact JAFA to get you another stock TM but dunno if you want to risk breaking another one.

what about trying a bit of JB weld before giving up on it? But then you probably thought of that

Wouldn't be even near strong enough...
Okay, now go get a CA M249 and blow that mechbox and post pics |

trust me JB weld aint good for crap, ive seen super glued plastic with more strength, you would have better luck brazing the joint.
ive had a very similar thing happen to me, but the whole front cracked apart but was still holding onto the cylinder so it just shot with more of a metal clangy sound to it lol now THATS good gunsmith upgrading! i got a guarder reinforced gearbox and its great, only cost me around 100$ |

upgrades were pretty simple, nothing extraordinary:
-guarder piston -guarder spring guide -guarder nozzle -sp110 it'd probably be the same price for the 7mm one as for the original tm from jafa (correct me if i'm wrong). thundercactus: you are probably talking about a v2 breaking, this is not exceptional.

Manchovie, Your not the only one. I run into a thread in filairsoft.com. Same broken M14 gearbox.
Looks like this will be a problem with most of TM M14's. Some HK online stores are sold out on their G&P M14 reinforced gearbox. Ever wonder why?

Do you think this is an age issue or an upgrade issue? be interesting to figure out why this happend, i was thinking of upgrading my 14 sometime in the near future, would love to see how things go with the reinforced box. Keep us up to date

to dig up an old thread...
it appears as though mine is about to do the exact same thing as manchovies. Right now, its firing fine, but i can see the crack in the box exactly where his cracked, only the part hasnt come off YET... time to order a new g&p reinforced mechbox I believe. |
